Advice for my little girl's 4C hair (she's cut a big chunk out).

Hi all

My little girl is eight years old with 4C hair. My wife and I are Caucasian and adopted her when she was two. My wife has been styling it since and doing a great job (she is *significantly* better at it than me) putting in braids, bunches and plaits.

Despite complimenting her and reinforcing that her hair is beautiful she is starting to resent how much work is required and when it is brushed she cries in pain.

My wife was doing her hair this morning and realised that at some point she has taken scissors into her room and cut about half an inch off across her fringe as it was "sticking out".

My first question is, is there advice on what to do for now. She is devastated now she realises what shes done and short of putting clips across her forward we're struggling to think of ideas.

Secondly, we've all watched lots of videos reinforcing her type of hair and watched very helpful channels but we do still struggling taking knots out without it hurting her.

She's also resistant to going to a salon but after this we're just trying to explain that a professional with her type of hair will be able to help us.

Bit of a ramble but its been an emotional evening!

Thank you!

Forgive a potentially daft question.

I bought this waterproof box for some appliances we have in the garden. The adaptor that came with it said "not suitable for outdoors".

Am I right in saying that just means it needs to be housed. If the adaptor is in and only cable is coming out of the ports is that sufficient? Then only the cable is exposed?
