If I came across a Rube Goldberg machine in public, but some guy had set it up such that the last step was to kill him as a suicide, and I set it off on accident, all 47 steps completed and the guy died, would I be charged with Manslaughter?

I think this is a pretty self explanatory question

Just a parallel to the current situation. Xerox had a MC of about 8 BN and HP 33 BN. Everyone was like wtf this makes no sense. Initial deal failed and then a hostile takeover was initiated. Ended up failing because Covid happened but Icahn was all in. They nominated 11 independent directors for the board to replace everyone. I personally think RC wants an initial rejection and to issue a Proxy fight but I’m regarded. Keep in mind RC is an activist investor, the entire eBay board owns a whopping 3% of total eBay shares so they don’t put money where their mouth is. GameStops messily 5% is more than the entire eBay board. RC has a case in replacing them and I’m excited to see how this plays out.
