Prototype Weber ICH air filter assembly

Takes a standard Wix #46036 filter. This is PETG printed but final version will be Nylon (better heat resistance)

Planning on making versions for DGV and DFV Webers as well.

I’m sick of reusable air filters, they have very poor efficiency and let’s be honest my time washing the things is worth more than the $10 Wix filter that’s a better filter anyway

Anybody know what this is?

Replacing all the rotted rubber fuel lines on my 1980 b2000

What is this thing that the pump goes to before it’s routed to the engine bay?

Fuel lines

I dropped the tank on my 1980 Mazda B2000 today to replace the old hoses and hopefully fix the pump sucking air into the fuel.

Left to right on the steel lines is vent, outlet and return. The second photo shows the outlet near the bottom of the image (has a screw type hose clamp) it loops around through a filter, pump and then into that cluster looking thing in the first picture.

What is it??

I am redoing my fuel system and want to know if I can just skip that thing?

I’ll get some more pictures up later I got rained out of crawling on the ground…. Getting the tank down was an exercise in patience and finagling my hands up and around on top of stuff to get the last bolt loose

FREE 10 gallons E85 gasoline

Failed attempt to convert an old truck to E85 left me with 10 gallons of E85 I cannot do anything with.

Free to anyone that wants it!

Perfect for a flex fuel car. Currently stored in gas cans in a dry location

Free E85/gasoline mixture.

A failed experiment to convert my old truck to E85 left me with a half tank of a mostly E85 mixture I am currently pumping it (through a filter) into some gas cans. Free to anyone who wants it (gas cans not included!)

Do you have a Flex Fuel car? This is perfect for it!

Probably about 6 gallons total

Weber ICH adapter plate design

Threw this .step file together to mount an ICH on my 1980 Mazda b2000

The maintenance guy at my work gave me a lead on a mail order water jet and or laser cutting shop that should be able to do this for like $30

No more leaky 2 piece adapters for me!

I’m gonna get it cut out of 1/2 inch aluminum and might have it anodized if I’m feeling particularly fancy lol 😂

Weber single barrel?

I know everyone pretty much uses the 32/36 DGV carbs (I do) but has anyone tried the ICH?

I’m not racing or driving hard I mainly want something for better fuel economy.

I might be rebuilding my engine (again….) and definitely need to overhaul the carb at minimum but I might replace it as I got it used and it’s probably not in the best shape anymore

It would also allow for a flat, one-piece adapter plate I could design and have machined vastly simplifying the woes of the junky adapter plates currently available for my intake

1 of 4 cylinders isn’t firing…..

I ran out of time before I could do a compression test today but will likely get to it tomorrow.

My 1980 Mazda b2000 (engine rebuilt by an engine shop a few years ago) was running like crap and failed emission testing so I had to buy a POS used car to use while I figured out the truck.

Pulled plugs and carb today (Weber DGEV) in anticipation of a carb rebuild and/or replacement and a compression test and the #4 plug was suuuuuuuuper oil fouled.

My hope is that it’s only a stuck ring but I’m afraid it’s a broken one….

I poured some MMO on all cylinders and turned it over by hand a few times, then topped up the #4 cylinder, covered everything up, stuck a rag in the intake and had to call it a day.

Any advice? Am I likely looking at another rebuild here? Think I’ll get lucky and unstick a ring? Possible head gasket? This truck is pretty easy to pull the engine out of but getting an engine rebuilt in my town has limited options and stupid long wait times

Anything else I should do?

Thanks!
