Bob mentioned being perplexed over the fact that the device managed to “stop time” for a candle flame and yet light escaped. Couldn’t the device just have slowed down the time for the candle to an extreme degree?
If the devices manipulated spacetime to the degree that time for the candle passed a thousand times slower relative to outside observers for instance, light from the candle would presumably still escape, right?
How long did they observe the candle flame for?
I suppose the question may revolve around the light becoming red shifted in such a circumstance(?) and therefore the flame ought looking different (more red) or even completely invisible if red shifted enough?
