Downloading 4K Audio
If a YouTube video is in 4K (I just want the audio). Why is the 'best' audio just "Normal Quality" at 139K? Shouldn't it be higher?

Hey fellow Redditors!
Super excited to share that my whatsapp Status Saver app hit 1,000 downloads in just 1 week! Got this traction with 5 social media posts using trending hashtags or tagging popular brands or names
Curious to see how far it can go! I would be happy if you check it out and give me the feedback https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.statusapp.myapp
This the latest Android 4K Video Downloader Plus App and it's now giving the error "limited by YouTube". There's nothing I can do about it. I can't login because the 4K folks think logging in is only relevant to the desktop version. No idea why they think that, but they do.
I've just tried these videos on the desktop version (where my 4KVD is logged into YouTube) and they download just fine. I don't think the links are relevant but here's one of them.
This happened yesterday also, but a few hours later it wasn't happening (same phone, same links).
I'm having issue when I download videos like this (10) Super Sentai All Openings (1975-2025) - YouTube
for some reason, if you compare the audio from the downloaded video with the audio from the YouTube video, the voice in the downloaded video is louder than the music and you can barely hear the music
not only with this video that I noticed this, but with others, please fix this
I've been using the app for years now, and this is the first time my IP has been restricted from downloading videos (when I try to download a video I get an error saying 'YouTube not available". I know it is an IP ban because when I turned on a VPN I was able to successfully download videos again. How do thing typically play out when someone receives an IP ban like this? Now that I've received an IP ban once, will it now be more likely to happen again in the future once it's reversed?
Please stop autotranslating meta data! it is so annoying to download a song, just to find its title and artist to be autotranslated. i cant find any songs that are downloaded this way.
for instance: i wanted to download the song "Magik & Ingrained Instincts - Sentient Others" which has now the title: "Magie und tief verwurzelte Instinkte – Empfindungsfähige Andere"
this sucks hard imho.
how can i disable this feature?
Hey everyone,
We’ve noticed that lately more users who are not signed into YouTube inside 4K Video Downloader Plus / 4K YouTube to MP3 are running into parsing and download issues more often.
We’re already working on improvements and fixes on our side, and one of the upcoming updates will specifically address this situation. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, signing into your YouTube account inside the app may help reduce interruptions and download errors, even for public videos.
— We never see or store your password
— Authorization happens directly through Google
— Your login data is never sent to our server
Open the Control Panel in the app
Click “Log In”
Complete Google authorization
— age-restricted videos
— members-only / Premium content you already have access to
— smoother batch downloads
— fewer temporary YouTube limitations
We’ll share a more detailed guide very soon together with the upcoming fixes.
We noticed that recently more users have been running into parsing/downloading issues in 4K Video Downloader Plus and 4K YouTube to MP3. The good news: in many cases, it’s not actually a broken app or a permanent issue on our side. Platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and others constantly change how their websites work. Sometimes this temporarily breaks compatibility until we release a fix.
So before writing to support, here are a few things worth trying first:
🛠 Update the app
A lot of parsing issues happen after website updates. New app versions often include compatibility fixes.
🛠 Log out and back into YouTube
Sometimes the session/token just needs refreshing. You can also try another account.
🛠 Disable VPN, antivirus, or firewall temporarily
These can interfere with parsing or downloads more often than people think.
🛠 Try another website or video
This helps figure out whether the issue is global or tied to one specific platform/video.
🛠 Change the download folder
Folder permissions can occasionally break downloads.
🛠 Restart the computer
Yes, seriously. Sometimes stuck processes or cached connections cause weird behavior.
🛠 Reinstall the app completely
A clean reinstall fixes corrupted configs surprisingly often.
And if the issue still happens, sending these details to support helps a lot:
— the video link
— screenshot of the error
— app version
— your OS version
— whether you’re logged into YouTube in the app
— what you already tried
We know parsing errors are frustrating, especially because they can appear suddenly even if everything worked yesterday. Most of the time it’s caused by website-side changes rather than your setup.
Hope this helps someone before they spend an hour troubleshooting blindly.
I have just set up a new Android phone and have installed 4K video downloader. I am using revanced manager to avoid advertisements but I cannot work out what the official name of 4K video downloader app is to put into the alternative download button in YouTube if that makes sense.
hasnt worked for me in some days
After trying to upgrade 4k Video downloader+ Version 25.2 to something newer than that, an error pops up, that in English can be translated as:
" Cannot find procedure GetDpiForSystem "
I hoped it would be fixed, but it's not.
I was a long time happy user of the original 4K Video Downloader (without plus +).
The plus version supposedly added support for more sites than the original, but I used it only for YouTube and never needed the plus.
I used the original 4K Video Downloader for as long as it worked, because:
- plus version looks ugly compared to without plus
- plus version dropped support for downloading .MKV (VP9 better quality than .MP4 H264) with lower resolutions, that worked very nice with original 4K Video Downloader non plus
- plus takes about 2x more disk space (that's minor, but I can add it as a minus as well)
- other plus issues that I cannot recall at the moment (I think there were some problems with subtitles using plus version)
So overall worse YouTube downloading functionality than original 4K Downloader even if stated as a better replacement.
But I used it anyway, because a degraded 4K Video Downloader+ is better than nothing at all...
until it stopped working and cannot upgrade because of system error.
Is there any other application that I could use to download from YouTube?
(I don't care about other sites that much, but I need the ability to download from YouTube).
Best Regards
Very ocassionally Tokkit will download a vid with no sound, I've checked and the sound is there in the original posting on Tiktok. Is there a way to correct this please?
