Call me crazy, but I just like games...
It's a lot of nonsense about physical media being removed and this vs that and truth be told, I just like games. Have fun this weekend everyone.
Tout sur Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox et le retro-gaming.

I haven’t played this in years but I dug out all my old vintage games, it’s about to go off!!!
I have a Nintendo Switch 2 and a bunch of Switch 1 games.
I ONLY PLAY SOLO and do not play online.
I am a much older gamer. About to turn 50 and loved all of the RPG games growing up like FF7 and Dragon Warrior, Zelda, Super Mario, Contra, Punch Out, etc.
As I have gotten older, I tend to like more action based not turn based.
Games I loved are:
Witcher 3 (absolutely my favorite)
Outer Worlds
Borderlands
Borderlands 2
All the Resident Evils (have not played Requiem)
Zelda BOW
Zelda TOTK
Metro 2033
Metro Last Light
Wolfenstein II
All Bio Shocks
Dark Souls
All Dooms
Dragons Dogma
Games that are good:
Mario Kart Deluxe 8
Borderlands Pre Sequel
Turok 2
Red Dead Redemption
Hyrule Warriors
Batman Arkham Asylum
Zelda Echoes of Wisdom
Madden 26 but too complex for my liking
Star Wars Knights of the Republic I and II
Star Wars Force Unleashed
Star Wars Republic Commando
Super Mario Odyssey (played half way through, got bored and sold the game)
Games I hated:
Batman Arkham Knight (I hate driving with cars impossible to control so gave up on the game almost immediately)
Turok
Zelda Skyword Sword
Star Wars Jedi Knight (I couldn’t figure out the controls)
Star Wars Racers
Assassins Creed Black Flag (found it boring and the mechanics are terrible)
Games I just bought but am either lost or bored after a few hours of playing:
Skyrim (Got past the Dragon and can explore everything but am at a Castle and got bored, stopped playing like a year ago).
Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy (Played to the first fight where it teaches you the different wand combinations and decided it was going to be too hard to remember so I stopped playing 2 months ago)
CyberPunk 2077 (I am lost after 3 hours and just finished the beginning. Almost stopped playing because the initial car is hard to control but stuck with it. I am currently at the APT and going to see if things get more digestible.
Last things to note. I have a really bad autoimmune disease that is causing me to lose feeling in my hands periodically so having to play games that require complex stick movements make me struggle. That’s probably why I don’t like some of the games I mentioned above.
Any positive comments are welcome. If you want to bash me, I will just delete and block you. I don’t have the desire to deal with negativity.
I classify this as a remake as the game was remade from the ground up-ish, it's like a hybrid of the Snes port while adding new features.
All the DKC remakes feel like they were made just to cash on the games of the series one more time. We already had DKC 1 on GBC and the semi demake Land games on GB. I really don't like the weird bright colors that plagued most GBA remakes, the added dialogue/ cutscenes which feels so poorly made/ filler yap sessions (reused a lot of animations so it looks like a fan hack), the new bosses in DKC 2&3 just look ugly and misplaced compared to the rest of the game. Then the new mini games oh man the new mini games look horrible. The music is also GBA style so it sounds screechy.
Now a days there's no really point to play these besides nostalgia or curiosity. You can't really admire these games either as they didn't really push the hardware of the GBA unlike DKC 1 on GBC.
Maybe they were good for the time being but playing these on hardware isn't fun for me.
I honestly wished they just used a different art style for the remakes like FF1&2 or just made 1 good spinoff.
A lot of people tell me to wait for a sale, but what they don't get is that it makes no sense to wait for a discount on a game that's overpriced to begin with. Digital distribution is supposed to save a fortune on logistics, so why do they set such high base prices? That’s what I’m complaining about.
Early this morning I finally finished Kid Chameleon, and man, it was a massive adventure going through so many different levels. In my opinion, the game has a few annoying flaws. The gameplay feels pretty slick and slippery, and some masks have even worse controls. There are barely any bosses, and they are basically all the same. Despite all that, the game is actually really good. It has great graphics, and the level variety is just insane. It never gets boring because every single stage brings a unique experience. As soon as you start a new level, you have no clue where to go, whether it is left, right, up, or down. Plus, there are tons of portals taking you to completely different places. The developers were super bold with this one. It feels like a Mario Bros game but for adults. I absolutely hate using save states and almost never do, but I was forced to use them here. The game is just way too long, and since I did not know it beforehand, I needed save states to keep my progress. I bet this game traumatized a lot of kids back in the day because of its difficulty. But if you have never played it and you like platformers, it is totally worth it. You can be sure it is unlike anything you have ever played before.
Hey everyone! I’d like some recommendations for what game to start next! For context, my favourite games ever are BotW, Hollow Knight, Celeste, Outer Wilds, and Mario Galaxy. I also tend to love whatever Nintendo puts out, and am planning on getting Splatoon Raiders on launch. I also recently played Expedition 33 and loved it, so I’m trying to get more into RPGs, and I also finished Bananza and loved it.
I am considering getting either FF7 Remake, Blue Prince, or something else, or maybe starting OoT on NSO (although I don’t know whether I should wait for the remake).
FF7 because people have said that it’s similar to Expedition 33 (which I adored). I played the demo, and while the story hooked me a little, the combat is not something that I really enjoyed. Blue Prince caught my eye because of its massive praise, and since it’s being compared to Outer Wilds, one of my favourite games, I thought I should check it out.
My favourite genres are platforming, action-adventure, and puzzle games.
Can any of you recommend me some games?
Long story short, my partner and I are playing through all of the LoZ games.
Are Oracle of Ages/Seasons both worth playing through? What would be the best way to play through these specific titles?
As a side note, we've been using the GameCube GameBoy Advance player to play through most of the handheld titles. We were probably going to use that to play through both, or one of, either title. Emulator, original copies on a GBC?
Also, which of the two titles should we play through and why? I would like to start a discussion of the two titles. Spoiler free, if possible.
Hello everyone,
I currently have no game I'm actively playing and I would love to dive into it again. My favorite game of all time was The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. I also enjoyed Skyrim, but not as much.
I played Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom and found the first one to be better. I also sunk a lot of hours into animal crossing.
What I really enjoy is a phenomenal open world. Either a sandbox with a lot of player freedom or a RPG. I don't like dungeons very much, I don't like puzzles and I don't like an empty world.
Does anyone have a few recommendations?
Gex: The game was made for 3DO so the box art shows the front of a 3DO long box ripped open, showing Gex and the jewel case inside which is accurate to the size. For ports of the game they didn't change the art, which works the least on the PS1 jewel case release because now the front shows inside of this jewel case is a smaller jewel case.
Werewolf The Last Warrior: Shows the titular Werewolf bursting out of the game cartridge and ripping through the box. This art work was put on the game cart's label, which almost still works but you can see the ridges in the image so it looks like a smaller cart is inside of the cart.
We absolutely love both Mario Party as well as Monopoly. Are there any more games like it for the Switch 2? I've unfortunately heard that Risk doesn't work so well.
Budget is tight so i'd prefer to not make an accidental wrong purchase.
After having sold my Series X back in 2022, I bought a used model a week ago as I really wanted to get back into gaming from the couch with the ease of a console. Also the price increases and more to come made me nervous so I went for it. Found one near me, picked it up and all is well so far.
The guy told me he bought it at release but didn’t use it much during that time so I didn’t think much of it. As soon as I was home I opened it up and removed a nice layer of dust from the heat sink. As I worked on it, I noticed the manufacturing date: 17th October 2020… almost six years old!
Which got me thinking, how long can/should this device last realistically? I know components can die within a day or last 20 years, so it’s hard to guess.
How has your release model been doing so far? I really hope to be using this one for many years, just like my PS2 which is still working flawlessly after 22 years.
Just wanted to share my steelbooks collection. What do you guys think about steelbooks? Any collectors too? They become harder to find and publishers rarely bother anymore putting them into special editions.
I got the last Xbox Series X at my store using 20% teacher discount, 5% birthday discount, and 5% red card discount for about $383.
Important Note: You can still get the 20% College Student Discount if not a teacher).🧑🏫
You can still get 20% discount +5% red card discount (it’s not exactly 25% off but close enough) and it is still on sale at Target. (You can get an additional 5% if you also get a birthday discount with a grand total of like 28%off)
Only catch is Xbox Series X may be sold out, Xbox Series S 1 TB is not on sale…though you can easily get a series s 512 gb version that is on sale.
Note: You can also get a 20% college discount at Target instead of a 20% teacher discount.
Note: I have both a teacher discount and college student discount but it did not let me combine them in one purchase (though some in the past claimed they were able to).
This is my main worry about the end of physical media. In Australia, a new game will almost always retail for full price on PSN, but usually a brand new physical copy will be anywhere from $10 to $40 cheaper. What's the price difference in your country?
