Hi all,

After some advice before sending it to a shop. I’ve recently picked up a second-hand Xbox Series X for (what I thought was) a really good deal (£200). After a full factory-reset and installing games like FH6 and Fortnite, after maybe 15-20 minutes of gaming my games would just dashboard with no error message. I thought nothing of it until it started happening quite consistently, and at one point after a prolonged session the console just shut itself down.

The console still works fine, but it’s a pain and really puts me off playing games on it (which is what it’s for lol).

I’ve since taken the console apart and replaced the thermal paste, to my surprise I thought I had fixed it first attempt - I hadn’t. After about 50-55 minutes of Forza, it finally dashboarded again.

My next step was to replace the thermal putty, but didn’t have any on hand yesterday. I’ll attach a photo of what it looks like now, and hoping there’s an expert here that will tell me straight away what’s causing the crashing!

If the putty needs to go, what brands are people using, I’ll order some tonight.

Hey everyone,

I recently got a Robot White Xbox Series X Digital Edition. The console is only about 2 months old and it's in pristine condition—absolutely zero scratches, dents, or signs of a drop anywhere else on the body.

However, I noticed three tiny hairline cracks radiating right out of the edges of the bottom screw cover plug (the oval plastic piece right below the power port).

The console boots up perfectly, runs super quiet, and performance is 100% stable with no power disconnects or issues at all.

Are these cracks due to a manufacturing defect (like thermal stress or factory over-torque)? And do they affect the console or its performance in any way down the line?

hey all, I picked up this xbox for pretty cheap, but later found a bunch of orange-looking stuff inside some of the vents/ports & around a few other spots. all photos past the first (kinda blurry) 4 are after i tried cleaning as much as i could out with compressed air & q-tips, and gave it a good dust down- but a good chunk of it won’t really come off.

not sure if it’s just old dust/grime, corrosion, rust, something worse,, or just stale cheeto dust. im also not sure if it’s safe to plug in and try turning it on as is- if it matters, i wouldnt be using the og old cable/power supply, i just bought a new one off amazon.

I attached a fuckload of photos, so hopefully theyre thorough enough to get some kind of answer-
does this look like something I should try to clean more before even attempting to power it on? any ideas on what the orange stuff could be & the safest way to deal with it would be really appreciated.

Hello fellow Xbox users !

I was wondering if anyone has/had same issue?

I upgraded from S to X last week, removed the old console from my account before selling it and for some reason it still shows on my Xbox app as console on ?

Whenever I'm trying to remove it, the app just freezes and nothing happens, and there is definitely just 1 Xbox under my account.

Any help/tips appreciated 👍🏼

It’s happened since I got the Xbox and it only does it on certain games like Fortnite or horizon 6. It’s never been as bad as this tho. Any help is appreciated.

Im new to monitors in general and i’ve heard OLED are the best ones out there, between these 2 which do people recommend? Im going to pair it up with my Xbox Series X, or does anyone have any other recommendations?

I have ultimate game pass I tried forcing it to download through the app it started to download then it said this other than that it says I can only play cloud gaming everything’s up to date i have a TB so I have enough storage I have no idea what is happening

this is making me really mad and it won’t listen to anything i’m trying to do i cant uninstall gta and i cant restart the xbox and i can’t open settings from the home menu and it’s just acting very weird im wondering has this happended to anyone else?

my Xbox series X keeps crashing on newer game whenever I play long my Xbox shuts off by it self and keeps crashing during middle of gameplay,

i tried deep clean my Xbox and didn’t work so I couldn’t fig it out how to deal with prevent crashing games.

*Update* I got my Xbox series X since late November 2023 when I got as brand new.
