I’m curious, what was the first anime series you ever watched?

I think a lot of us in my age demographic (29f) started out watching the likes of Pokémon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, maybe even some Ghibli films when we were younger. However, the first time I actually sat down and said I want to watch anime I was about 19 years old. Here’s a small list of the very first shows I watched in the order I watched them SOA season 1, Fairytail episodes 1-150ish, Rosario + Vampire, Gantz: O (also a movie), Deathnote (I’ve heard this is a starter for a lot of people), Seven Deadly Sins, Re:Zero, Hunter x Hunter, Cowboy Bebop, Toriko, AOT, Bonus: they’re movies too but around this time watching ‘Princess Mononoke’ in theaters followed by ‘Your Name’ when it came to dvd was absolutely life changing

Suggestion for a good high school anime

Hi, I am here to get a suggestion of a good high school anime. I really like the slow romance they build. So anyone with a few good suggestions

I have already watched:-

My favourite

Bunny girl senpai (personal fav)

Oregairu

Blue box (there are some problems but it's good)

Quintessential quintuplets

Higehiro (goated)

Angel next door

Makaeine

Some which I found interesting

Alya sometimes hides her feelings

More than a married couple

I am getting married to a girl i hate

Oresuki

Dreaming boy is a realist

Horimiya

My dress up darling

Relife

Love is war

Yamada kun and 7 witches

Shikimori is not a cutie

Tonikawa over the moon

These are some of them I have watched many more but cannot remember them

Please make your suggestions

Looking for anime with actual solid plot

Most ive watched starts with a decent goal but they always drift away to stuff like constant fights or some side stories or really predictable plot lines.

I liked made in abyss coz it had somewhat of what's gonna come next feeling but it never concluded properly and moved to multiple side stories during the main path.

Or one piece, I like it but most of the recent arcs in it are just constantly fighting bosses after bosses like they are finishing levels.

Am looking for something where it makes me feel curious about what's about to come, doesn't move too far from the plot, and actually has a decent conclusion to everything it set up.

Why can't I watch in Japanese without subtitles?

I spent years learning Japanese and am still learning but I understand a lot of it. English subtitles just get in the way. Why can I turn them off when I have english audio but not Japanese audio? At least give me the option of Japanese subtitles or off if I want to watch in Japanese please.

Recommendations similar to Frieren

hey guys, i just finished watching season 2 of Frieren and loved it ! I would love to know if there are other anime’s that i could watch that are “similar”. To help, here are the points i loved and would like to see replicated in other animes and other genres :
- little to no fan service !! (this was so so refreshing as a woman watching anime)
- powerful women as well as simply having a lot of women who are not objects of desire/love interests
- a good mix of filler/adventure/combat. i actually enjoy filler so i don’t mind it too much

I lowkey need something that doesn’t only have 1 or 2 seasons that finish in a cliffhanger please i have suffered too much with Yona of the Dawn or Raven of the Inner Palace (both which i also enjoyed!!). It kills me inside when i see there’s only 1 season and it came out in 2012 🥲

thank you for your recommendations and would also love opinions on my opinions lol

Best OP XII: 【Salty no Ko】Round 4 Bracket C!

Only two more rounds before the brackets merge!

Please upvote and interact with the post to increase visibility!

Full Bracket

I do not have much to say today. It was far from as close as it was yesterday. We have one seeding upset with Duvet taking the L against the goated Domestic Girlfriend OP. This was expected on accumulated points throughout the tourney and historical contests, however!

It surprises me that the Domestic Girlfriend OP always does well, while a great song like Centimeter from RaGF can't even survive the first round!

If anyone has any additional questions or comments please let me know.

Question Time

What are some of your favorite OPs that belong to an incredibly trash anime?

Looking for suggestions about a anime with a short depressed guy as a protag

Just finished reading make the exorcist fall in love and it was insanely good, Id love if there was an anime like it. I’m always open for more, I’m okay with manga too Thank you!
Edit: had to make some corrections in the title,
I’ve also seen Dangers in my heart, lovely complex, dusk maiden of amnesia, dealing with mikkadono sisters is a breeze

idk what to watch as new anime watcher

i pick up animes to watch from time to time but i like specific themes idk what they r called but ive recently watched jjk (ik basic but like again im no expert) and literally finished it so fast and like i need something like it pls

i got recommended solo leveling (finished it) its good but it lacked the friendship dynamic that jjk had, i also got recommended chainsaw man ( few episodes in) idk if i like it bc of the weird aspects of it.. should i pick it up again???

pls recommend animes to watch that have the same level of plot and character depth as jjk
(ive watched deathnote, its mid)
