Eurogamer's early preview of Wolverine + Deadline interview with Liam McIntyre

Both articles were posted early today, then taken down and archived.

Deadline Interview

Eurogamer Preview | Pics 1/2/3/4/5

>The opening scenes of Marvel's Wolverine see Logan in a feral state, running through the jungle before being subdued and rescued by a seemingly-benign Nathaniel Essex. Yet it doesn't take long for the claws to come out. A quick flash-forward to the present day, and we find Wolverine on a rescue mission retrieving Essex from billionaire bad guy Bolivar Trask, entering the action by toppling backwards out of a helicopter. Two middle claws up while doing so, of course.

>It's exactly the kind of bombastic opening you would expect to find in a Wolverine game, and true to Insomniac's words, you soon find yourself right in the middle of the fray, doing very Wolverine things. You hack and slash your way through enemies, leaping from victim to victim to shred them as quickly as possible. You're introduced to Logan's regenerative powers when he's knocked down by a barrage of bullets - activating his second-chance 'last stand' ability with the help of some frenzied button-mashing. And before you know it, you're sneaking through long grass to take down enemies, aided by Wolverine's heightened senses - which give you a heads-up on enemy locations with glowing outlines and directional cues. It's an introduction that's cinematic, highly polished, and dedicated to getting you into the feeling of being Wolverine as quickly as possible.

RogueTX: Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe Details, Price, and more

source

  • PS5, XBOX, PC | PEGI 18 | DENUVO ANTI-CHEAT
  • Release Date: June 2027 (possible placeholder)
  • $69.99 Standard - $89.99 Deluxe - $119.99 Collectors
  • Magic has been removed from the game.
  • Large-scale map with LINEAR focus including multiple villages, forests, and more.
  • The Map is divided into three areas: a forest region and villages/towns. Locations with deep woods outposts, villages, rivers connecting to towns and past forests, etc.
  • Fear system from Syndicate's Jack The Ripper DLC is returning, making the NPCs fear more frequently, misfire their weapons, or completely abandon the area and flee the zone.
  • Graphically, the game is dark and "a lot better than Shadows".
  • Audio has been revamped. If a person is behind the wall it is more quiet by a percentage, making it sometimes unpredictable to know if someone is behind a wall or near by.
  • NPCS get suspicious of outsiders like Anika (protagonist), making it harder to move around the map without getting noticed.

A mix of rumors, leaks, and confirmed titles from PlayStation's first-party studios.

Naughty Dog:

>Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

>Release window: 2027
Director: Neil Druckmann
Said to be inspired by Elden Ring in terms of player freedom. One of the last things we've heard about the game is that ND employees would be working overtime to get the game done.

>Unannounced Uncharted Project

>Release window: TBD
Director: Shaun Escayg
Allegedly in development since 2022. Not much is known about the plot, and some claims like it being a dual protagonist title with Nate and Cassie have been debunked, at least for now.

>The Last of Us Part III

>Release window: TBD
Director: Neil Druckmann
Teased many times at this point by Neil Druckmann and ND developers in interviews. Lots of storylines that could be part of it have been teased, like a story with Tommy, a continuation of the Fireflies story, and a congregation of immune people.

Santa Monica Studio:

>God of War: Faye Spin-off

>Release window: 2027
Director: Cory Barlog
Plot claimed to be centered on Faye and Tyr traveling to different mythologies in a time before GOW (2018). These reportedly include Mayan and East Asian mythologies.

>God of War 6

>Release window: TBD
Director: TBD
In one of the earliest reports regarding the Faye spin-off, FandomWire claimed that a project led by Atreus was simultaneously being worked on as a direct sequel to Ragnarok.

>God of War Trilogy Remake

>Release window: TBD
Stated by Christopher Judge to include a new combat system.

>God of War: Sons of Sparta 2

>Release window: TBD
According to Erfan, one of the first leakers of Sons of Sparta, an entire 2D trilogy was in the cards, but it depended on the first game's reception.

Insomniac Games:

>Marvel's Wolverine

>Release date: September 15, 2026
Director: Marcus Smith
What's left to say about this game that hasn't leaked?

>Marvel's Venom (i30d)

>Original release window: 2027
MP1st claims that the game will star Eddie Brock as the protagonist. Carnage is the main villain, and Anti-Venom would make an appearance in some capacity.

>Marvel's Spider-Man 3 (I34)

>Original release window: 2028
Cindy Moon (Silk) has been added as a protagonist alongside Peter and Miles. Green Goblin would act as the main villain and have a goblin army. There's also a chance of Spider-Man 2099 making an appearance.

>Ratchet & Clank: Rag Tag Team (I37)

>Original release window: 2029
Follow-up to Rift Apart, about discovering the full Lombax society living in a city within a dimensional containment field. The villainess is a female Lombax.

>Marvel's X-Men (I35)

>Original release window: 2030
Not much is known about this, except that it probably ties in with Wolverine's post-credit scene, >!which teases Apocalypse!< .

>New IP (I36)

>Original release window: 2031/32
In the leaked Insomniac data, there were several pitches for new IPs, with the strongest considerations being: Subject Zero, Generator, Pearl, and The Quarter.

Firesprite:

>Until Dawn 2 (Project Heartbreak)

>Release window: TBD
Animation director: Mondo Gulam
Writer: Pierre Sheret
According to Colin Moriarty, the game is set on an island with a female lead.

Guerrilla Games:

>Horizon: Hunter's Gathering

>Release window: 2027 (Potentially)
Co-op Horizon game with a different art style. Some closed betas have already happened, so there's a chance for the full release to happen next year.

>Horizon 3

>Release window: TBD
According to Jason Schreier, it's still a long way off from launch, since Hunter's Gathering took most of their workforce.

Bungie:

>Destiny 3

>Release window: TBD
Reported last year by Deakstiny to be in "extremely early development," so no one should expect this until the next decade at the earliest.

Haven Studio:

>Fairgame$

>Original release window: 2025
Heist game announced in 2023, and the only thing we've seen from it is a CGI trailer. Insider Gaming recently released some info about it, and based on playtesters, the game isn't fun...

Housemarque:

>Saros

>Release date: April 30, 2026
We know pretty much everything we need to know about this game, and the release is just around the corner 🎉

teamLFG:

>Gummy Bears

>Release window: TBD
The Game Post describes it as a MOBA with some Smash Bros elements. It would have entered a pre-alpha testing stage last year, and it was also discovered that a Discord server was created for the game.

Bend Studio:

>Unannounced Live-Service Project

>Release window: TBD
Suggested by job listings to be yet another live-service title, after the cancellation of their latest MP project, "Mirror Pond".

Some other studios about which we know close to nothing for their next projects are: Sucker Punch Productions, Team Asobi, and Media Molecule. We also have Polyphony Digital, from which we can expect more Gran Turismo, and San Diego Studio, with MLB The Show.
