Why don’t Nintendo translate their games?

It’s baffling to me that most first party games and the console UIs are only available in a handful of languages. They tend to do the usual Italian, French and Spanish etc. but no more.

Most of their games are child friendly, but something like Zelda or Pokopia become near impossible because of the language barrier. And they aren’t even voice acted, so translating them would be a straightforward task, more so now than ever with LLMs.

But for some reason Nintendo has decided not to bother, unlike Sony that has many first party titles on PS5 which are subbed or even dubbed. Nintendo cannot even be bothered translating the Switch OS itself, even though their marketing is entirely localised.

Why? It seems like leaving very easy money on the table, and a huge miss for a family focused console.
