For the past 8 hours, I've been trying really hard to complete this animus mission. And I've reached the limit of my patience.

Trying to find a shinobi on the world map via random encounters has been very unfruitful - 7 hours of unfruitful - an effort well beyond any normal person.

Next, I tried to encounter one via main/side quests, Godai Shinobi questline, for instance. Except Shotei is nowhere to be found. Not in the Sakamoto Castle. Maybe I did not complete the Showdown at Sakamoto first? Did I complete Showdown at Sakamoto? Hell if I know. The last time I played this was a few weeks ago so I don't remember the details.

So I had zero luck with random shinobi encounters, and zero luck with guaranteed spawns from quests. There is the tournament, but that animus quest is not active at the moment.

I really want the 700 pts, but the "Kill shinobi" mission continues to elude me no matter what I do. Maybe someone from this forum can chip in with some useful info?

See screenshots below to get an idea whereabouts I am in the game.

Harima province, just past the bridge by the river, inside the circle shown on the map. If no shinobi enocunter, then I scout the road to the south.

If no shinobi encounter in the Harima region, then I fast travel to Otsu Kakurega in the Omi province to scout the road to the north where the circle is. If still nothing, then I fast travel back to Harima and repeat over, and over, and over, and over...

People of Omi - Shotei is not there. Nor anywhere in Omi. WTF is he??

Currently in Ch.11: The Fall of Shinbakufu. I am sure that's far enough of progress for random shinobi encounters on the world map.
