BIOLOGY ROADMAP???

Hi everyone, does anyone here have a comprehensive roadmap for learning biology from the very start to finish? Like the ones provided by the Mathwizard for learning mathematics, including textbooks or online video lecture resources for each learning stage. I’m aiming to self learn biology for fun😅 and your answers would be very much appreciated, thank you!!!

A level Bio resources

Hi guys, first of all I want to congratulate each one of us for persevering through exams! ( ik I’m very late). But, my transition work just came through for A level bio. The exam board is OCR and I was wondering if there were any good resources for A level OCR bio online or any YouTubers? Bc I can’t find any. I’d gladly take recommendations! Tyy<3

Never Knew Having 6 GCSEs Was Such A Big Disadvantage 😭

Guys I am an international student looking forward to apply to UK medicine universities in 2026 for 2027 intake. I had 6 IGCSE Subjects and I Got 5A and 1A, and predicted A Levels A* A* A in Biology Chemistry Physics. UCAT predicted: 2300-2600B2. Now when I'm checking entry requirements in Manchester and Birmingham University, they have minimum 7 GCSE requirement which means I cannot apply to them despite having these good stats? 😭🙏🏻🥹💀 Pls help me guys. I'm cooked.

Do I need Bio for Medicine?

I’m a yr11 going to yr12 in September, and I have heard many complaints of the insane amount of content in Bio and I’m quite scared 🥲

Tbh, Bio is not my favourite science but I enjoyed learning about the human body more than plants (so I hope that what A-level bio is mainly on)
However, I usually get 8-9s in the subject

To those pursuing med soon (or already in uni for med) , please let me know if:

Did doing A-level Bio help you understand the content in Medicine?

Is the content in Biology similar to the content in Medicine?

Is the amount of content in Biology actually that bad?

bio A level cambridge

im thinking about taking A level bio but im still debating it.

Ive got a few questions that will hopefully help me make up my mind:

1)What are the biggest pros and cons of A Level biology?

2)How difficult is it compared to your other A levels?

3)Also ive heard the coursebook is packed with information. Did you find it useful or did you mainly use other resources to study?

  1. Is it mostly memorization or does it require a lot of application and critical thinking?

  2. if you could go back would you still choose it?

id love to hear your honest opinions

I don’t know if I should do bio a-levels

The exam board of the school I’m going to go to is OCR A which I have heard people say is content heavy (as biology is) but I looked ovetlr the past papers and the marks don’t look too bad. I don’t know if I should pick bio or change it for sociology . Context I’m picking chem and psychology aswell so idk if socio is better option then bio.

Anyone who does ocr a pls help me because I don’t know how long I have till I can change my subjects

and I’m going for a thingy where they show around the school today and the subjects and what it’s about, but I want to hear opinions of ppl who acc do it because I want to know what I’m getting myself into

Your students could discover a brand new strain of algae.

Your students could discover an algae no one has ever named.

We are building a hands-on microbiology program where students isolate living algae from real samples and log their findings to a national science platform. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Phase I results: 117 kits shipped, nearly 300 students, real gains in science confidence, and our teachers even helped uncover algae strains with antimicrobial activity.

Now we are recruiting teachers to prototype. Should we be awarded the grant, phase 2 will include several rounds over the next two years, and every selected teacher gets a free kit and full materials.

Going into Edexcel A-Level SNAB Biology - Any Tips, Resources etc?

First of all, hello! I'm really new here I joined this subreddit after my GCSEs this year. I'm pursuing medicine for uni and I'm generally a high grade student so far...I have taken Bio, Chem, Maths and Econ for my A-Level/AS subjects but I wanted to make this post specifically for Bio as I want to get ahead in this subject right now over the summer before Year 12 starts.

So yeah...do you guys have any tips, resources, notes, advice that helped you achieve an A*?

Thanks in advance from a newb lol :)

ocr a level bio support

hey guys, so i basically got a U in my year 12 end of year bio mock, and no i didn’t not write anything, i genuinely tried. Bio has always been the subject where i struggled the most. I’m so glad i can re sit the exam, which will be happening next week.

I’ve been trying to revise, but, i’ve seen a pattern. I barely understand the questions, and i’m always somewhat way off the mark scheme.

I feel like i’m revising wrong and i’m really worried. Does anybody have any tips specifically for OCR A that i can dm and stuff.

I’m not tryna go form a U to an A. i genuinely just need a D to be able to do year 13. Obviously i want to aim higher and stuff. I rlly need support . Someone suggested bio with olivia notes but they are aqa :/

How do I make flashcards for CIE Biology and Chemistry revision? Please!! I really need help.

So I've been seeing people saying that they use Anki or Quizlet to create flashcards to help them with A level revision. I want to do this, but I really do not know what to put on the flashcards, like what information do you put, definitions...? I really need help to understand what you guys put on your flashcards to make them useful for revision. I'd really appreciate your help.
