I took lang this year—how is lit different?
Hello everyone, I’m taking AP LIT next year and I wanted to ask for advice in regards to how annotation works for this AP course. I took AP Lang this year where everything is focused on argument development and rhetorical choices so I wanted to ask how exactly this course is different and what exactly is supposed to be analyzed. Thanks for your helpful comments and suggestions!
Q3 was kind of light but Q1 and Q1 were terrible. Thank god I did them in reverse order.
Hi! I took Lit last semester and need a refresher. I am taking the makeup exam on Monday and have a couple of questions before then.
As long as you provide depth and support, can you use any book for Q3, even if it isn’t on the AP Lit book list? I wasn’t sure if the book list was just recommendations, or if you have to stick to it.
Do you have to write about three literary devices to get full credit? Like intro paragraph/thesis, device 1 para, device 2 para, device 3 para, conclusion? That’s the structure I was taught to use for all of my essays in the class, but I’m afraid I won’t have time to write that much in 40 minutes because I’m such a slow writer. So if, hypothetically, I only had enough time to write about two devices, would that be penalized?
Any tips for working faster? For both essays and MCQs?
Any other additional tips like things that have helped you, things you wish you knew before the exam, or good things to study?
hey all! i’m a rising senior and i just received my summer homework, which is to choose a book out of four to read and annotated. I’ve narrowed it down to two:
im not sure which to pick. any input? thanks!
pretty please
Literally just the title. I had another test today (APUSH) so I missed class, but apparently the FRQs released on the AP website aren't even close to what was on our test for Lit. I checked and, yeah, it's not what I got asked at all. Does anyone know what's up with that?
soo I wasn't initially planning to use a book from outside of class, but I had the lack of self-awareness prompt and couldnt think of anything else and panicked :(
I talked abt his memory loss and how his lack of a sense of self and a lack of knowledge for his motives on being on the mission(at least in the beginning) both negatively affected and protected his mental state(seeing his dead teammates)
also i connected the memory loss to the theme of sacrifice which is found throughout the book(stratt managing the project knowing she might be arrested afterward, rocky continuing his mission thinking that he might die of the radiation if he stays in space), and how memory loss is a metaphor for sacrifice, i.e. literally forgetting yourself to serve a greater purpose for others.
would I get any points at all for this?? I feel like I'll get a zero just because the book is scifi and not rlly advanced
