Octane and ethanol

Octane and ethanol

Wondering what y’all’s thoughts are on this: I live at high (ish) altitude- about 6000’ above sea level. I always put premium in (91) her but it has ethanol in it. Was in the mountains over the weekend and found 91 without octane and she ran like a raped ape all the way home. There is a no ethanol option here in the city but it’s only 87. Is it better to do the 87 without octane or the 91 with?

Finally got to take the truck off road

Took the truck up Edinburg Gap and Peter’s Mill Run on Saturday. Started off with Edinburg Gap because someone(also pictured) likes to puke in the truck figuring it would be an easy test before going on a real trail. Truck handled both trails effortlessly and there was no puking. Zoties(?) makes an anti nausea med for dogs and it works great. He was to ride and explore without having to ride the trazodone rocket ship all day.

Big Brother

Just joined the community as of today; new to me 2024 AT4 3.0 L picked up yesterday. What an aggressive looking truck stock coming from a long term owner of a Ram Eco diesel. Loved my Ram, ran her for 11 years, 305,000 km with some troubles but ran her hard like a truck….hunting, fishing, atv and snowmobile trips. Unfortunately or fortunately only baby diesels left are from GM so I am hoping for the same or more enjoyment than the Ram…for the $$$ I am expecting way more. First impressions, love the looks, great interior and all the options I wanted. Ride is good, tires are terrible, fuel mileage amazing, performance meets expectations (my Ram lost some weight so it had tons of JAM), fit and finish is disappointing to say the least. This is the third AT4 where the body lines of the cab and box don’t meet. My son in law has same truck and same issue, he took it back to GM and they shimmed the cab and the lines are even…… I guess $65000 - $80,000 gets an entry level truck now? All and all initial impressions are good. Might be asking the community for some upgrade suggestions but for now taking it on its first off-road mission this weekend so will wait till after my trip….ride hard and safe.

GMC Sierra AT4 tire advice

Does anyone know what it takes to fit 315/70r17s BFG Ko2s on a 17x9 -12mm rim onto an AT4. I’m currently looking at the 2.0 sst ready lift, along with cutting slightly into the front wheel well plastic, and removing the bracket at the back of the wheel wells, and cutting just straight across on the liner where the bracket used to sit. I don’t know if I would have any issues with the tires hitting the tops of the wheel wells when going over bumps or if the cuts would be enough to stop them from hitting at full lock.

Upgraded, what AFM/DFM do you recommend?

Just upgraded my 2021 5.3 elevation to a 2026 6.2 At4. I didn't have an AFM/DFM disabler on my old truck. Which disabler should I install on my new truck?
