Rotation of rear view camera.

When I have my reversing camera in designed spot (upper part of the door in my van) camera image on my atoto is up side down. If i have the camera loose on the cable (upside down position ie. above number plate installation) picture is correct. I do need the camera installed in the middle of the van and high above to see my tow hinch when reversing towards the trailer.

Unfortunately for the love of God i cant rotate the immage in the settings. I even tried the "hidden settings" but cant find 180⁰ camera rotation)

I have Atoto S8 MS (its a VW version, but fitted in Transit Connect without the VW facia adapter plate).

ATOTO A6 FIRMWARE UPDATE VIA USB NOT WORKING, LOOKING FOR WORDS OF WISDOM

I've installed a New Atoto a6 off ebay and the MCU is 2021 so I emailed support for the latest firmware update a couple days ago. They sent me this " the latest build of ATOTO AICE OS 9.7 for the A6Y series"

My head unit is the A6G2A7KL and support says this is the correct firmware for my A6 running android 6.0.

I formatted a 16gb usb stick as fat32, unzipped the update.zip they sent me, copied over the files to the usb drive,, then plugged it into the head unit usb port.

Now I see the headunit o/s mount the usb drive in file manager but nothing happens. I also tried the phone link external usb split cable and the same thing.

Support says the zip file is correct, but I never get the prompt to update my system. I have tried fat, fat32, and ntfs formatting, and it comes back to the usb drive getting recognized when plugged in, but never prompting to update the A6.

Looking for any help to get this unit update done. Thanks

ATOTO S8 4GB vs 6GB before buying + better alternatives?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering buying an Android head unit for my Fiat Bravo (2007–2014) and I'm trying to make the right decision before purchasing.

I'm currently looking at the ATOTO S8 series, mainly:

  • 4GB RAM version
  • 6GB RAM version

My priorities are:

  • smooth UI / no lag
  • good long-term stability
  • decent build quality
  • fewer bugs / reliable daily use
  • good Android Auto / CarPlay experience

I don't necessarily need the cheapest option — I'd rather buy once and be satisfied.

My questions:

  1. Is the 6GB version noticeably worth it over the 4GB in real daily use?
  2. How reliable is the ATOTO S8 long term? Honest opinions welcome.
  3. Are there better brands/options in a similar budget range for someone who wants an Android tablet-style head unit, but with good stability and quality?

I'm asking before buying, so any advice, regrets, recommendations, or “I wish I knew this before buying” experiences would be very appreciated.

Thanks!
