Trouble with Abode Keypad 2 in detached garage
I bought a hub, Keypad 2 and motion sensor for security in a detached garage; they arrived yesterday and I spent this morning setting things up.
So...what I want to happen: someone walks into the garage, the keypad beeps or flashes, you type in the PIN, and the alarm on the hub doesn't go off.
What actually happens: you walk into the garage, there's no visual or audible indication the alarm has been tripped, and the alarm on the hub goes off (seems to happen immediately, not after 60 seconds, which is the delay setting). Putting in the PIN on the keypad does disarm the alarm though.
So I'm coming to realize that ChatGPT or maybe Claude (don't remember which one I talked to) steered me wrong on this. It seems I could get that audible alert by adding a siren to the system, either the indoor or outdoor versions. Is there any way to fix this without buying more equipment?
Also, I'm within the return period and I'm starting to see that the app kind of sucks and support is questionable. Should I just cut my losses, return everything, and go with SimpliSafe?
