Does anyone know the exact formula Airlines Manager Tycoon uses to calculate round-trip flight times?

I’m trying to recreate the flight time calculations in Excel.

It looks like the game adds a fixed turnaround/ground time and then rounds the result, but I can’t figure out the exact formula.

Has anyone reverse-engineered the calculation or knows how the game computes round-trip times? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are auctions used for money laundering here or what?

So, I recently started playing and understand most of the game and everything. I want to get a couple of 747s, which are around 130k (and 20c) in the new shop, but noticed a ton of them being sold at auctions. For some reason, every single one gets sold for 900k, while being a factory standard aircraft, with no special livery and a bit of age wear. Who in their right mind spends enough money to buy 5+ brand new SPs on a single one at auctions?

Just Joined AM

I just joined AM, I have a few questions :)

  1. How does the SHM function and how can I access it?
  2. What is the overall best plane? (hub is NRT)
  3. What type of route should I open? (Short Haul/ Long Haul)
  4. How does I know what route is the best? IRL demand? Audit?
  5. Any overall beginners tips?
  6. What is the benefits of an alliance? Code-sharing?

PS: I joined an alliance alr.

Thx for reading and look forward to hearing your opinion :)

Is using large planes in short haul bad?

I'm using A380 in European short routes where a single flight covers the demand for the entire day reducing per flight cost. Is this effective?

There is NO improvement IN YEARS. Why do you not do ANYTHING?

This is a clear question to you all who play this game for years and the developers.

I play it here and there since 2019, I have a decent airline and love it. I have stopped playing the game and it genuinely shocks me whenever i come back, how much worse it gets and how NOTHING changes everytime i log back in, except the packs and whatever you can buy.

I stumble across older posts from years ago and current ones, with people saying they've been already requesting simple stuff to make the gameplay better FOR YEARS, requesting the addition of clearly up and running commercial airports that are important for their respective countries, plus airplane requests, which as EVERY request, they are all COMPLETELY ignored.

This is NOT incompetence, this is just greediness and lack of interest.

NOTHING has been added in this game and the developers should be ashamed for what they're doing. This is greediness at it's best and as the small studio that they are, they SHOULD feel lucky with how much people have supported and embraced this game.

There hasn't been a single hint of them steering towards a better path for their game. This shitty challenge that they have every month... 45 EUROS for 20 planes??? And its the same thing every month, same few "exclusive prototype" planes with just a few tiny little changes in the liveries for the EXACT same challenges and enormous fees. 25 EUROS challenge pass??? What the fuck is this? Are older players, regular players who want to enjoy this game, just money to you?

This is a joke. Absolute joke. This whole gaming industry is getting worse and Playrion is just nothing different than the rest.

And those of you who actively buy these stuff and/or say "they won't even read your post", "you're losing your time", etc., well... you're only making it worse. Why dont you stop paying this stuff and demand changes and see how their whole strategy will change.

And if you are actually a member of the Playrion studio or a developer, know that you do not offer absolutely anything new to industry. You're literally just another copycat of EA, Rockstar, Epic Games, most AAA companies and mobile focused companies. If you're proud of that, good for you.

Thanks for reading.

How to handle massive debt

Im really tired of going into debt with this game

I always make money but if I don't play for a week im suddenly in debt and it feels like a clear and obvious way to force players to stay on the game

I checked the discord and it says to either take out loans, and that the airline becomes inactive after a few days so that you DONT go into debt but clearly with me that never happens

when does shm bids reset to 0 in airline manager tycoon?

I’ve been trying to figure out how the Second-Hand Market (SHM) bid limit/reset works in Airlines Manager Tycoon.

I know there’s a cap on SHM bidding/spending, but I can’t find any clear information on when the counter resets back to 0.

A350-1000?

Am I crazy, or is there literally no reason ever to buy the A350-1000 over the 747-8I/A380? The 747-8I is $17M more for 208 more seats, with similar range, fuel burn and wear rate as the A350. Am I missing something?

How good are the research bonuses e.g. camera?

I’ve done all of the orange researches, is there much benefit to doing all of the purple for the bonus? Or are the rewards average?

Creating new 168 hr, 5 route loop

I have BKK as one of my many hubs. I wanted to use the A350-9XWB for some routes that the A380 can't touch.

I use

https://destinations.noway.info/en/circuitfinder/index.html

  1. The aircraft type. (A350XWB

  2. The hub (bkk)

  3. I wanted a 5 route 168 loop. Pax configuration is fine.

  4. Any & Longhaul.

  5. 5 routes (long haul) and wherever.

I wanted to fill in my globe map, so I input Hav, Mia and Mex. It gave several options, but then I remembered I wanted to hit CPT (South Africa) so I included it.

  1. Mia. Mex. Hav. Cpt. And it gave Bwi as an option so I included it.

Since I will be under serving and over pricing to 0 demand I need to ensure the route will be good for 14 A350xwb (168 ÷ 7 = 24hr or 7 days) with 14 aircraft I will have 2 round trips per day for the 5 routes.

Let's look at the what seat map I can do?

Cpt has lowest F at 75. 75 ÷ 4 (2 round trips = 4 flights) 18.75 F max (18)

Hav has the lowest J at 317. 79.25 max (79)

Bwi has lowest Y at 2550. 637.5 max.

Since I am using A350-9XWB. Seeing that Y is larger than the capacity of the aircraft. I will select a seatmap. 467Y 1J 1F 1T

Why?: Under serve and over price. This will allow me to increase the ticket price substantially over audit price.

I will update later tonight with the new route pricing, along with the net revenue.

How many waves of 168 do you run?

I'm setting up some 168hr circuits and I know the circuit finder has an roi listed, but how many waves do you usually build in? Just one and move to a new circuit or minimum 2 or more?

An Open Letter to Playrion

Dear Playrion,

I understand you need money to pay your developers, to keep the servers running, and so on. I’m not against your use of ads or in-app purchases either. Not only have I spent a lot of money over the past seven years, but I would’ve happily kept paying, if you had changed for the better.

That hasn’t happened. Instead, I’ve witnessed Airlines Manager turn into a cash grab.

Wherever there used to be one ad, now there are three. I can’t even get to the workshop without having to scroll through the store, accidentally clicking on something I don’t want to buy, and feeling relieved when I manage to cancel the transaction. Every time I open the game, the first thing I see is always a pop up for whatever livery pack you’re trying to sell that day.

Those livery packs get on my nerves a lot. You put quantity over quality, and it shows. Those packs are mostly just poorly-made knock-offs of real-world airline liveries, and I wouldn’t even be surprised if they were made by AI. They are also ridiculously expensive and released so often they lose what makes them special.

Compare that to the Chinese New Year liveries. My Year of the Tiger 747, which I bought four years ago, still feels special because it was well-designed, original, and made back when you didn’t inflate the livery market with new additions every two weeks. I don’t mind if you keep selling liveries, but please prioritize quality instead.

I don’t think I even need to address the pay-to-win nature of your challenges.

Actually, I think I phrased what I said earlier wrong. I don’t even want an update. I just want Airlines Manager to stop feeling like such a cash grab. Even just going back to the 2021 mobile button layout would be a major improvement in my eyes. I wouldn’t mind making it pay-to-play either, if it were necessary.

It’s been over seven years since I first started playing Airlines Manager. Back then, the mobile interface was different, Airlines Painter was its own app, and alliances were only available on the web, in professional mode. I love this game and I want to see it as successful as it deserves to be.

Please stop making it harder for me to love this game.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Supporter
