A Concerned Filipino's Message to Ramon S. Ang on the Boracay Bridge

From Robin Chan:

To Ramon Ang,

With all due respect, many of us admire your vision and willingness to invest in major infrastructure projects that help move the country forward. But regarding the proposed bridge connecting mainland Aklan to Boracay, I sincerely hope there will be room to reconsider the approach.

Boracay is special because of its balance between tourism and limited access. That limitation is part of what protects the island’s beauty. A bridge may improve convenience, but it may also open the floodgates to excessive vehicle volume, congestion, pollution, and uncontrolled commercialization. Once that happens, it will be very difficult to reverse.

Instead of a full bridge connection, perhaps a world-class cable car system—similar to Ngong Ping 360 in Hong Kong—could be a more sustainable and iconic alternative.

Imagine tourists enjoying breathtaking aerial views of Boracay while preserving the island from heavy vehicle traffic. A cable car would not only solve transportation concerns, it could also become a major tourist attraction on its own. Just like Ngong Ping 360 in Hong Kong, the ride itself becomes part of the experience. People would ride it not just for convenience, but for the unforgettable views and unique experience.

A cable car system could move people efficiently while protecting the island from excessive car volume, traffic congestion, and environmental stress. It preserves Boracay’s exclusivity and natural charm instead of turning it into another overcrowded urban destination.

Progress is important. But sometimes, protecting what makes a place beautiful is the smarter long-term investment.

I hope the project can be revisited with sustainability,

preservation, and future generations in mind.

Respectfully,

A concerned Filipino citizen

Hi manangs and manongs! I would like to ask if kamusta ang VetMed sa ASU, in terms of the quality sa education, their systems and environment. I’m still really torn if kwaon ko gid man ang VetMed especially layo ang Aklan and I’ll have a lot of adjustments to do (I’m from Iloilo). Indi pa man ko sure if maka pasar ko 😢😢 pero I have been thinking about it na, cuz I really have to sacrifice a lot and I would want to know if would it be worth it. I wanna know ur insights po. Thank you gid huhhuhuhu
