Impostor Role concept. [Bloodhound? Stalker?]

  • This was originally part of an unrelated Role, but I decided the Ability is probably powerful enough to be expanded on as its own Role.
  • This is a very simple concept. This Role has access to a Portable Admin Table... That's it, that's the entire Role. The Portable Admin Table has a Cooldown [1] to be accessed, and may have that Cooldown recharged faster by Killing [2]. The Admin Table is Colored depending on the Color of the Player in the Rooms it's tracking [3]. Maybe the Cosmetics would also be visible, and there's the abbreviated version of the Colors.
    • [1] Portable Admin Table Recharge Cooldown: 1-60 seconds; adjustable by 1-second intervals [Default: 15 seconds].
    • [2] Portable Admin Table Recharge Per Kill: 1-60 seconds; adjustable by 1-second intervals [Default: 15 seconds].
    • [3] Portable Admin Information Is Colored: On/Off [Default: On].
  • > I could also see this Role having an option to see a red flash when their Partner Kills, but that might be too much.
  • It's intended to be used as a way to find empty Locations to lie about being in, find lone Crewmates to Kill, and find safe Locations to Vent to. Admin is overall very useful, and we already have a precedent for Portable Devices with Scientist. Of course, a Crewmate having a Portable Admin Table would be far too strong, but an Impostor with one is significantly more Balanced---remember, Impostors are the ones who are supposed to have special information only accessible to the minority of Players.
    • ...This will also be an excellent addition to the toolkit of Host-only Mods, since we'll now have a native way to integrate Portable Admin Table onto our Modded Roles.

Obviously, Crewmate Roles are broken by their very nature, but I wanted to see how close we can get to balancing them in a Competitive Vanilla Lobby.

  • The Ability should be Task-based to encourage a risk/reward factor.
  • The Ability should be visible to Impostors to encourage Targeted Kills.
  • The Ability should be easily Faked by Impostors, and it should not be visible to Crewmates, to prevent Auto-Clears
  • The Ability must be Disabled by the Communications Sabotage.
  • The Ability should preferably be weak to the Impostor Roles, but should NOT require them to be active. [I.e., Detective & Viper-type Lock & Key design is bad, but Shapeshifter/Phantom-type Discussion design is good.]
  • The Ability must have clear drawbacks.
  • The Ability must not be blatantly broken.
  • The Vanilla Identity must be maintained. [I.e., no Neutrals/Third Alignments and no Guessing System. These would both fix the issue, but they also defeat the spirit of the thought experiment.]

Let's see what you can make.

Am I the bad guy

so I was the detective in a game and I had seen that green was at the scene of 2 murders so I called a meeting and we voted out green. In the lobby everyone was calling me stupid and swearing at me because I was wrong, I tried to defend myself and 1 other person defended me, and making a single mistake causing us to lose the game to an oxygen sabotage after the meeting led to me getting banned before I could properly explain myself

is it frowned upon to run when someones trying to kill u?

normal expert lobby, some dude got mad and banned me for not letting him kill me?? he said i was “camping ladders and platform” (went back and forth on platform once, up ladder twice, once to call a meeting) on airship, it wasnt a rule in his lobby and he didnt have anything to say about ladders/platform until i started running from him, so.. idk. like, is it not normal to run away when ur pretty sure someones trying to kill u? im not rly familiar with expert lobby etiquette, im just getting back into among us
