My late father's 1974-1975 Ampeg B-25B bass amp with original matching 2x15 cabinet that he bought used in 1980 for $75 when was only 16-17 years old. The cabinet, which was empty (original speakers long gone), was at the house of a former band mate of his, who sadly passed away back in January, for about 20+ years, and I just got it back this past Monday and loaded it today with 2 15 inch JBL speakers I had gotten for it.

VT-22 Effects Loop Creation
Morning,
Curious if anyone has ever tried creating an effects loop on the older Ampegs. I'm trying to find a way to bypass the preamp with a Line 6 Helix.
There are one or two great music shops around me in St Louis that I would trust hacking away at it if it is something feasible, just not sure how big of a project it would be. There used to be a shop with a bunch of ex-Ampeg employees, but I'm pretty sure they've all retired or gone out of business at this point which is a bummer.

New to me B15-N Diag
Recently picked up this super clean 68 B15N for only $200 because it blows fuses and hasn't worked for an unknown amount of time. So far everything internally seems fine. It seems to have been serviced in the last 10 years based on dates on some components. Someone before me very obviously maintained this amp just going by the internal condition. I think the power transformer may be bad. Is that a common failure that I can fully prove before ordering a replacement? There are 0 amp repair places near my location so DIY is the only option.
