Saw an Employee Killing Wildlife Behind Flying J in Rapid City Today

So today I witnessed something so disgusting that I felt the need to speak up.

I was at the Flying J off Elk Vale Road in Rapid City, South Dakota. I had parked a little ways away and was stretching my legs when I noticed some wildlife in the area. As I watched, I saw an MG Oil employee actively chasing wild rabbits and other animals around.

One rabbit ran underneath a piece of sheet metal. The employee jumped repeatedly on top of the metal until he killed the rabbit underneath it. After lifting the metal, he was smiling and appeared proud of what had happened.

I later heard other employees call him Todd. Another employee commented, "Well, that one's dead," as if this was completely normal behavior.

I understand that some people may think, "It's just a rabbit." But this wasn't hunting, self-defense, or an animal causing an immediate threat. This was a person chasing wildlife and killing an animal for no apparent reason.

What bothers me most is that nobody present seemed disturbed by it. The behavior appeared to be accepted rather than questioned.

I have reported what I witnessed because intentionally harming wildlife for no reason is not something that should be ignored. Whether it's a rabbit, a bird, or any other animal, wildlife deserves better than this.

I will be thinking very carefully about whether I want to support businesses associated with people who believe this kind of behavior is acceptable. At a minimum, I believe people should know what I witnessed and make their own decisions.

I think alotta people on this Reddit forget ALF is not just about saving “cute” animals

Like personally I think the focus should not be about cracking down on rare cases of animal abuse. Thousands upon thousands of animals are killed everyday for meat and that’s what we need to stop ALF is a vegan far-left ideology not some save the puppy’s bullshit. And if you disagree your genuinely in the wrong place.

Stop Ugandan dog and cat abusers. Please can people sign this petition?

It has become well known and even covered by the BBC that Ugandan scammers burn, remove limbs without anaesthesia, beat, starve, imprison, torture, even violate dogs and cats to make the animals look as pitiful as possible so that they gain donations from well meaning citizens. I have developed a petition that asks the UK government to place conditions on Aid to Uganda that includes the Ugandan government taking action on animal abuse and online scams. If you’re in the UK or have UK family and friends, please share or sign it. This abuse and torture cannot go on. Uganda receives millions in Aid yet these Ugandan scammers STEAL from us. Action needs to be taken. ***PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER TI VERIFY YOUR EMAIL FOR YOUR SIGNATURE TO COUNT****thanks

One Man Is Caring for 200+ Dogs in South Lebanon 🇱🇧

I wanted to share the work of an incredible animal rescuer in South Lebanon. His shelter currently cares for over **200 dogs**, along with donkeys and camels, often with very limited resources.

The shelter is run by one person, **Houssein Hamze**, who dedicates his life to rescuing abandoned, injured, and neglected animals.

If you love animals, please consider following his Instagram, sharing his posts, or supporting his work:

**Instagram:** @mashalashelter

Every follow, share, and donation helps provide food, veterinary care, and shelter for these animals.

The page regularly posts rescue stories, updates, and the daily realities of running a large animal sanctuary in South Lebanon.

Even if you can’t donate, an upvote or share could help the page reach someone who can.

Thank you ❤️🐕

A friend built a senator contact tool to fight the animal cruelty in the 2026 Farm Bill ... sharing here because this community will actually use it

Quick context: Section 12006 of the House Farm Bill ("Save Our Bacon Act") would nullify CA Prop 12, Massachusetts Question 3, and any future state law setting minimum welfare standards for breeding pigs, veal calves, or hens sold across state lines. More info was covered in the NYT over the weekend: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/30/opinion/pigs-farm-bill-meat-industry.html

It passed the House 224–200 in April. The bipartisan amendment to remove it was blocked from getting a floor vote. The Senate vote is what's left.

A friend built a nifty tool. It looks up your senators and gives you a phone script and email template:

https://cac-campaign.vercel.app/s/a8f3k2

I'm sharing it because I want it in the hands of people who'll actually spend two minutes to pick up the phone or send an email. If you've called or emailed a Senate office before, you know two minutes from one constituent moves the needle more than most people think.

Thanks and please feel free to share with your local communities.

Animal Liberation Front
