Anyone else feel a little underwhelmed by the Wooli b2b Excision set at Apocalypse 2026?

Curious if anyone else felt this way about the Wooli b2b Excision set at Apocalypse 2026.

First off, I want to say I love both of these artists. I've seen them multiple times, and they're two of my favorites, so this isn't meant to be hate. Overall, I still thought the set was good. I just left feeling... underwhelmed.

Maybe I built this b2b up too much in my head since it was announced, but I was expecting something a lot more unique. Instead, it felt like a lot of the same songs we've all heard before, with a few VIPs sprinkled in. The mixing was solid, but I kept waiting for those unexpected moments that never really came.

What I was hoping for were creative mashups, new edits, unreleased collaborations, or vocals from one song layered over the melody of another, something that really justified it being a special b2b instead of feeling like two artists alternating through their catalogs.

For comparison, one of my favorite b2b moments was Excision b2b Subtronics at Lost Lands 2025. They mashed up "Black Out Days" with "Gold (Stupid Love)," and later blended "Feel Something" with "Into Pieces." Those were the kinds of moments that made me think, "I'll probably never hear this again." I was expecting more of that kind of creativity here.

Another thing that threw me off was the ending. It felt like the set wrapped up before 1 a.m. and kind of faded out halfway through a song instead of building to a huge finale. There wasn't that big emotional or cinematic ending I've come to expect from either Excision or Wooli. It almost felt like they played a lot of their biggest tracks early and then the momentum just slowly tapered off.

Again, I'm not saying it was a bad set, it definitely wasn't. I just don't think it lived up to what I expected from two artists of this caliber. Ironically, I think I've seen stronger solo sets from both of them than this b2b.

Maybe my expectations were just unrealistically high. Maybe I need to take a break from festivals for a while so everything feels fresh again. Or maybe I'm missing something.

Did anyone else leave feeling the same way, or am I alone on this? I'd genuinely like to hear what other people thought.

Missing an entire stage

How did I just realize we were missing an entire ass huge stage we had last year like it didn’t click till now I’m like wait a second, NGHTMRE played at a different stage than the one by the boat there were two dubstep stages.

Shuttle feedback

I'm pretty sure the majority of the attendees were disappointed by the shuttle wait times. If the majority of us take the survey and voice our disdain, would insomniac even do anything to address this problem? I don't have much faith since they tend to oversell and under delivery on transportation.

NEXT YEAR

i dont want to be the guy giving a million requests because i whole heartedly trust the apoc team to make an amazing fest year after year, lineup, set times, they do NOT miss

but im going to say one thing

SKREAM

skream would be so fucking sick, we got that Coki b2b A Hundred Drums for 2025 & all i could think about after was how insane it would be to get an old school dubstep set from SKREAM

i love his boiler room b2b with MALA so much, that would be biblical to have at apoc, or b2b BENGA would also be insane but id more then love to just see a solo SKREAM 140 set

only had the honor of catching SKREAM one time, it was at L.I.B. fest 2024 & he came on right after ISOxo, to this day it was one of my favorite sets ive ever seen

let's talk about TRAINS

I AM NOT MENTIONING RACE, it has nothing to do with race.

Trains get a lot of hate but I think they should be respected. They are ultimately the most efficient and least disturbing way to get people through a crowd.

A train of 20 people is much less disturbing than 20 individuals making their own ways. I would rather wait politely for 20 seconds than be bumped 20 separate times.

If you are annoyed by trains, I think you are being shortsighted and not considering that the alternatives would be worse.

EDIT: wow this pissed off a lot of people.

Who was your favorite set? Mine was Caspa b2b Peeakboo

Must say it was nice to have Apocalypse again after just 6months but I will miss Bassgiving. Saw so many great sets and met some awesome people on the way. Maybe I was blind but I didn’t see any zombies walking around and thought the decor lacked but still had a hell of a time 🐆🥕 till next time!

Did anyone else see this man at the afterparty during Taiki Nulight’s set on Saturday?

Okay, it was like 1:30-2am me and my buddy were vibing in the middle of the stage there was this old man his skin tone was straight gray he looked like a mix between Mr burns from the simpsons and a leprechaun he was wearing like a one piece jean overalls piece with no shirt underneath

he was dancing right next to us in the middle of the crowd I point him out to my buddy and made a joke like “that mutherfucker right there is NOT REAL” and he looked at us still dancing and slowly started getting closer and closer til we got uncomfortable and left the stage to check out the others. He had no wristband or anything on we felt like that was straight up a GHOST/SPIRIT we came across on the ship dancing. DID ANYONE ELSE SEE HIM ????

RANT: Insomniac literally ignoring everyones feedback is so frustrating.

Insomniac ignoring the overwhelming feedback about Apocalypse moving from November to summer is honestly getting ridiculous.

This was literally a change nobody asked for. I'd argue that more than half the comments on almost every Apocalypse post are people asking them to move it back to November, and they're just pretending those comments don't exist.

The production was still solid, but it was obvious that with Apocalypse happening right before Day Trip, that festival was the priority. The stages outside of the main stage felt like they were already being prepped for Day Trip, with noticeably less decoration and effort than previous years.

And while the vibes were still good, summer Apocalypse just isn't the same. Summer brings out a completely different crowd. A lot more people are there for the aesthetic and social media posts rather than the music and community that made Apocalypse feel special in the first place.

What's even more annoying is that every time someone brings this up in the comments, there's always a bunch of people saying, "Just don't go." That's such a lazy response. Many of us have attended this festival for four years straight and are giving constructive criticism because we care about it and want it to be better.

It's frustrating watching Insomniac ignore hundreds, if not thousands, of comments from loyal attendees because they they'll make a few extra dollars with a summer date. Forbidden Kingdom literally changed locations because of fan feedback, so I was hopeful Insomniac would actually listen. Clearly they don't give a fuck.

They took something that felt unique and special in November and turned it into just another summer festival. It's disappointing to see them ruin what made Apocalypse stand out while completely ignoring the people who helped build it into what it is today. Curious to know everyones thoughts on this.

Not loud enough

Was it just me or did the music seem weirdly quiet? I did overhear another group at Hol! saying it was quiet. I do like to stick to the outskirts of the crowd but it’s usually not an issue volume wise.

Did you take a photo with Mothwoman?

I know its a long shot, but I took a few photos and videos with bunch of folks in my Mothman costume but I didn't get their socials. If you were one of those people, please reach out to me! I'd love to see the pics you took!

I'd also like to thank everyone else that gave me trinkets, complimented my outfits, and danced with me! This was my 4th Apocalypse and it was a blast as always. Can't wait for next year!

Attached is a few of my favorite photos I took and the last photo is the Mothman outfit I was referring to. 💕
