A Call to Armenians and Azerbaijanis

Armenians and Azerbaijanis,

You are not traitors for wanting peace! In my opinion, the opposite is true: you are patriots for not wanting to send future generations into endless hatred and war.

Wanting dialogue does not mean you forget history, abandon your people, or ignore pain. It means understanding that the cycle of hatred needs to be broken somehow.

The voices filled with anger and hate are loud, but they are not the only voices. There are many calm and rational people on both sides who are tired of seeing our peoples remain enemies forever.

We need stop hating and dehumanizing each other. We have to keep talking so that we slowly soften each other’s hearts instead of hardening them even more.

This is a call to be active and contribute. Speak respectfully. Build bridges where you can. Do not be ashamed for choosing peace, even when others attack you for it.

Peace 🙏

Sorry, This Sub Won't Work

I say it because both of the sides have demands. You guys continue your causes like: "Oh you did ethnic cleansing to me and your country benefits it for generations, pay for it!" , "Oh no, you did to me and you still continue for it, you also have an active terror organisation!" bla bla bla...

It's impossible to be together unless you start to live your pain inside and don't blame any nation for it loudly. Most of the individuals see their nations as the part of their identities. And noone would want to accept the part of their identity is dirty due to the something they cannot have control on it. Or they wouldn't want to pay taxes for reparations when their economy is fucked up. I don't say "forget what happened", I just say "don't talk it loudly to the face of people of the nation you think did these bad history if you want a peace". Just it, otherwise you can't prove your causes to each other and it makes the peace impossible.
