Was Baxter and Z's relationship as wholesome as it appears?
My favorite character of TMNT is Baxter but another one of my favorites has always been Z. It's a shame Z hasn't made any appearances (that I know of) since the 1987 show as episodes with him in my opinion have always had the sharpest and best writing. Together, Z and Baxter's dynamic is one of the best in the franchise in my opinion. I think they're very wholesome, but something has been nagging me recently. Is their relationship as wholesome as it appears?
While Z seems very supportive of Baxter, I think it's obvious that he has some unclear motives of world domination. If Baxter dropped his revenge act would Z comply? Or would he try to convince Baxter otherwise or even possibly betray Baxter. What if Baxter didn't want to hurt anyone except the ones that hurt him (Obviously this isn't the case but what if it was?)
It's a real shame Z and Baxter didn't have more appearances as it wouldn't been interesting to explore the possibility that Z was actually just using Baxter. At first glance it does seem like he's genuinely supportive, but I can also just as easily see that he was just being manipulative. What if a computer as advanced as him knew Baxter and the hardshipped he's faced and was trying to take advantage of him?
Personally, I don't think this is the case, as Z seems supportive of Baxter even when Baxter clearly isn't around or he just doesn't need to, but it would've been nice to further explore their dynamic regardless. I guess we'll never know. What are your thoughts on the matter?
