I have a pemp linux screen installed in my f30. It was working perfectly in the morning but around noon it reached like 85 degrees here and now the bottom right corner of my screen is dark and it flickers. Is this permanent damage or just a heat issue? And is it normal?

2015 BMW 335i N55 EWG - Fixed boost leak, replaced MAP sensor, now getting BOTH P12A4 and P12A5

I have a 2015 BMW 335i N55 EWG tuned on MHD Stage

The car originally had a boost leak at the charge pipe/throttle body connection. I smoke tested it, fixed the leak, replaced the O-ring, and also replaced the MAP sensor.

After fixing the leak, the car feels MUCH better now. Boost and throttle response are stronger and the car pulls harder than before.

But I’m still getting CELs with these codes:

- P12A5 – Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor “A” After Running Diagnosis Pressure Too High
- P12A4 – Pressure Too Low

Before fixing the leak, I mostly got low pressure codes. After fixing it, I still sometimes get the low code, but now I’m getting the HIGH pressure code more often too.

What’s confusing me is:
- The car actually feels good now
- Smoke test holds fine now
- MAP sensor already replaced
- CEL still comes back after driving for a while

So now I’m trying to figure out what could still cause both overboost and underboost related codes after the leak was repaired.

Could this point toward:
- Wastegate issue?
- Boost control solenoid?
- Adaptation/tune issue?
- Vacuum/PCV issue?
- Turbo problem?

Anyone with N55 experience this?

I can’t choose a color scheme

The first 2 pictures of the car is it’s current form. i’ve been having the absolute hardest time for the past few weeks trying to tie my head around what parts of the car i want to change color, and what i don’t. So i’ve made a few AI mockups of potential changes you could scroll through.

When i was looking for wheels for this car (which is the hardest thing to do for 5x120) i came across an amazing deal for the whole set of 18inch gramlights , only downside is one pair is gloss black the other is gunmetal blue, but i didn’t care because of the price

I’m now in a point of my ownership where i get bored of not touching anything on the car so i start wanting to make changes. But everytime i say i want to change something i become unsure,

First initial thought is i want to chrome my gramlights since the black wheels lose their shape/design , especially at night, but i fear since they are 18inch wheels, i feel they wouldn’t look like they fill the wheel wells fully in a chrome color, so i mocked my friends 437m wheels and i like the 19inch look, but the bmw factory wheel design doesn’t convince me enough to replace my Rays Gramlights

Apart from my wheel situation, i also don’t know what to do with my carbon hood. I love the look it has against the sun with the carbon fiber, but in the shade , at night, or during the winter it just looks like a black hood that separates itself with the fully white car. therefore i’ve been thinking of paint matching it white , but the thought of covering a fully carbon hood is what’s holding me back.

With all that being said , I would love to have an All white car, with the chrome wheels to match the chrome grilles and other chrome accent bits i plan on installing, but something in my gut is telling me that i’ll regret something

Restoring black paint

My hood and trunk currently look like this. The doors seem okay. The car looks beautiful and clean when washed but it doesn’t last. What is the best way to DIY this and get significant improvement and bring this black paint back to life? Not looking for a show room kind of style but something to bring significant improvement.

Feedback on ball honing

I am flex honing a BMW N55 engine block that I am rebuilding ahead of installing a new set of OEM piston rings (keeping same pistons) because my understanding is that the new rings will not seat properly on glazed cylinder walls. I’m using a 320 grit silicon carbide hone.

Thankfully, I have a used block to practice on before honing the block I am rebuilding.

I’m using 10W-30 oil per the instructions and trying to achieve ~100 strokes/minute at a setting of 500-800 rpm.

It’s hard for me to tell if my cross hatching looks like it should. I know it’s supposed to be at a 45 degree angle, but this looks a little flat to me even though it looks similar to the remaining cross hatching I can still see in the unhoned cylinders.

How am I doing? Any constructive feedback would be appreciated. I have 3 other cylinders to practice on.
