I'm reading Belgariad series for the third time. I realized something. What is Belgarath's strategy? I don't understand. Because, the copmanion proceeds stealthily to south. But Murgos realize them. Belgariad says "We don't have to stealth anymore". But still they try proceed without being noticed. Why? I don't understand.
PS: English is my second language and I'm still learning. I'm sorry, if I made grammar mistakes.
I’m re-reading The Belgariad for the first time in a while after reading the whole series of books in my teens.
I wondered if there’s any quotes you find yourself using in day to day life from the series.
One I’ve been using that made me laugh a few days ago is when Silk tricks a group in to thinking a bag of rocks is gold. I believe Barak says something along the lines of “They will kill him (the bandit leader) you know?” to which his reply is “I would be terribly disappointed if they didn’t”
So I have been using that line (in variations) to people.
“You know they’ll be annoyed when they find out you stuck googly eyes on their keyboard”
“I would be terribly disappointed if they weren’t”
I’m once again reading through the series as it’s a favourite. I mentioned something to my wife as she is also reading the series to our eldest (who’s 10 years old) and suddenly found ourselves at a difference of opinions.
When you read “Cthol Murgos” do you read it as Ck-thol or Sy-thol? The same would apply to Ctuchik as to whether it’s a harsh Ck or softer S at the start?
As we can’t decide between us I thought I’d throw it out here for opinions!
