AI usage at bico

So first of all, this grande bataille was even better than the last. Thanks for everyone who were part of it. On the other hand, what's with all the AI usage evrywhere this year? Mainly on the quest board and announces, but even in front of guilds and stuff. I'm kinda disappointed in that regard. Hoping that people do better next year. Even if your quest paper is not the best looking in the world, I'm pretty sure people prefer authenticity instead of AI usage. (AI did not exist in medieval time).

Sorry about the rant, and hoping to see a lot new people and cool art next year!

Possibly the best week of my life??

Just a few non decorum camp pics we took, thanks to everyone for being so welcoming and adventurous and hot! I’m so upset I didn’t journal every day so I could remember everything, but yknow what, it gets dark as hell at night and my light source’s batteries died day one 🫠 My MVPs of the week are the pirates, I hope to be wheeling and dealing with them next time because I WILL be back next year and I WILL try not to catch acute bronchitis again!

Alright, I'm hooked. How do i physically prepare for next years Bico?

First time attendee of the GB this year and i'll be honest, not only was it THE coolest thing i've ever had the pleasure of doing, it's something i fully intend on continuing to attend, both annually, as well as, if possible, the scenarios and campaigns that i find myself able to.

But one thing was evident; I've never been so sore, fatigued, or otherwise worn down during a vacation, so i want to start preparing early to be much more in-shape for next time.

So thus, any recommendation on exercise/fitness routines that target proficiencies in the activities I'd find myself doing most at Bico, including combat, or just traversing back and forth across the grounds?

edit: I should clarify that I'm looking to get a bit more milage out of the event itself! I can deal with post Bico soreness, but is also like to be able to keep up in both the day to day and combat.

Different accomodations options?

Other than the ND and by being a member of a specific guild, how does one get to rent accomodations at Bico? Like the small wooden cabins or? I know previous renters usually have dibs the next year, but I'd be curious to know more about the different options and costs.

Post GB 1026 - What a week!

What a week!

I knew there was going to be some walking, but I never thought it would be like that. Thank everyone who strongly suggested good pairs of shoes!

In just 2 days Bico broke me down. But just when I started to doubt it, it brought me back to life and gave me the experience of a lifetime. A lot of emotions, a lot of awesome people, and so many great stories to tell. Some magical stories for everyone to hear and some that can only be spoken about at Bico.

I'm glad that I went and experienced it. I'm already thinking about next year and how my first time will have shaped the ones to come. As many other mentionned before, Bico is not a race, but a marathon.

Thanks to all of you for being part of it. It was not always easy, but all of you made it memorable.

Cheers Bico!

Voelhoorn Resource Card

This GB, my adventuring group got a Voelhoorn from a quest. The funny thing is that we have no idea how much it is worth.

The online document mentions that Voelhoorn are essentially sailors, that can breath underwater. Does anyone know what this card could be worth?

New couple looking for our Bicolline crew

My partner and I just attended Discovery Day and we're hooked!

We're completely new to Bicolline and looking to find a guild/crew to join and participate in the year-round game, attend smaller events, learn the ropes, make friends, and eventually arrive at Grande Bataille 1027 as part of a crew.

We're especially interested in a pirate/maritime guild welcoming new players (especially a couple) Would love recommendations from experienced players, and to meet some potential crews and find our Bicolline family! Any suggestions?

GB 1026 - What happens when someone wears something that is non-decorum?

Over the past months I have told my companions on many different occasions about the strict decorum rules at Bicolline. I specifically told them "no halloween costume whatsoever" and "neutral-looking shoes/boots like brown or black".

Today they showed me some of their items and I completely froze and did not know what to say or do. Just to name 2 things they showed me: A cheap synthetic costumes tunic and a pair of old half-destroyed white running shoes.

I was mortified. I told them SO MANY TIMES, I sent them the documentation and information... 2 days before the event, there is just no point repeating myself again. I will just have to wait and see what is going to happend, and it makes me anxious AF!

First time at Bicolline and Jaxx has no solar

Greetings, People of Bicolline and Reddit people!

This is Jaxx the Magnificent.

I have been told this is a place where people write things and then other people write things back. So I am doing this.

This is my first post on the Reddit, and also my first time at Bicolline!

I am going to Discovery Day with two friends, and I have a very important question:

When you enter Bicolline with your Discovery Day ticket, do you receive some solar with your ticket? Or do we start with no solar and have to earn it once we arrive?

If we have to earn it, that is also fine!

My friends already have some musical talent, but I am not much of a singer. I am sure there must be other ways for me be useful.

Carry something? Yes.
Build something? Yes.
Move a very large rock? Finally, a job for Jaxx.
Fight something? Probably yes… if you give me a weapon.

Jaxx seems to have misplaced his weapon somewhere. (I haven’t actually bought one yet.)

Anyway, if there are quests, jobs, tasks, or anything else we can do to earn some solar, please let me know!

If it is for the quest, we will do what needs to be done.

…At least, that is what I was told a proper adventurer should say.

Thank you, wise Reddit people, for your answers.

I still do not understand what karma is, but I hope it is useful.

Sincerely,
Jaxx the Magnificent
Occasional singer. Currently weaponless. 🗿

Thoughts on this hat decorum wise ?

Hi y'all, my girlfriend made this hat out of crafting material. She's worried it looks too cheap for Bico. I think it looks great. She's put a lot of effort into it. She's an herborist so it really fits her character.

As a comparison, last year, we were gifted a flower garland by a guild. Clearly something from a dollar store, and nobody made any comment, so I don't see how this hat could be a problem.

Thoughts ?

Decorum Raincoat

Hello! My family is coming to visit Bico on the discovery day and they were wondering what is available and affordable for a raincoat in case of rain? Since we would see trhough it, is a transparent plastic raincoat acceptable? Is there any budget friendly option?

Thanks! CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS SUNDAY :D

Can I Buy Your Tickets?

Is anybody by chance reselling either two (2) 3-day tickets last minute or 1-2 Discovery Day tickets that they are unable to use? You'd absolutely make my year.

Shuttle information?

Hello everyone, first time attendee. I will be traveling alone and flying in late Saturday evening. My tickets shows that I paid for shuttle service, but I can't seem to find any info about the times the shuttles come & go from the airport. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thank you very much.
