Can you give reasons a bidet toilet is better than a bidet seat?

I love my bidet seat in one of my bathrooms. Our other bathroom is at a point where we need to replace the entire toilet, which has a crack in it. My wife is suggesting we get a normal toilet with another bidet seat. I have a hunch that since we need to replace the whole toilet anyway we might be missing a rare opportunity to get a whole bidet toilet. I've seen advice about this question in past discussions about bidet seats, but those were in the context of replacing a working toilet. I'd like to get people's best arguments for getting a whole bidet toilet. I don't need more info about the cons (cost, maintenance, etc.). I just want the pros. Our budget is up to $4k and we live in New York, if that constrains anything.

We know how to build bidets. Why can’t we get people to buy them?

We’ve been building bidets for years, but still can’t figure out how to earn trust in the US market.

Our team is mostly engineering-focused. Some of us have been working in this industry for over a decade and previously helped develop bidet products behind the scenes for larger brands.

Around 2021, we decided to start our own company because we thought we understood how to build a better product.

Over the last few years, we pushed hard on things we thought mattered:

  • stronger reliability
  • better heating performance
  • more features
  • longer testing cycles
  • 3-year warranty

People who actually buy and use our products tend to leave really positive feedback.

But growth has been much slower than we expected.

What we can’t figure out is:

If you were shopping for a bidet seat and saw a newer brand offering similar features, what would stop you from buying?

Is it:

  • trust?
  • appearance?
  • installation concerns?
  • concern about long-term support?
  • too many features?
  • something else?

Genuinely asking—we’re trying to understand what matters most to customers, not defend our product.
