Faire Outfit! (They/Them)

Got to add on to my red/black outfit with my new hat from Masquerade!

I need better walking shoes that go with this outfit if anyone has any suggestions! I had plaid platforms that have no ankle backing so they kept slipping off.

This is why we can't have nice things

Someone pointed out to me that some people are not using the Kindness kios for what it's ment to be used for.

So I decided to check out out on Sunday sure enough some people have used it to push their political agenda and others have edited other people's notes.

Its a good thing but when others ruin it then we will no longer have it.

(Here is a funny one i saw)

Looking for Boots

I’m looking for a pair of leather boots for my outfit. I’m not a huge fan of the traditional high boots with the large circles up the sides, but I’d like them to be knee high and actual leather.

Has anyone had any experience with Orin’s Treasure or Old Realm Leather?

I was looking at the Viking Warrior Boots and Medieval Leather Boots respectively, but haven’t run across either store before.

Any insight or direction is appreciated.

Friend of Faire Tix

I bought 5 FoF Tix from someone I know and they are waiting for me at will call still, I hope.

I would have already used them but the weekend my friends and I planned to go (and some people in our lil group live 4+ hours away and we all have very different lives to coordinate around)- we got smoked out by bad wildfire air -- does anyone know if I am able to use the tickets Labor Day Weekend?

former ren faire performer?

hello! i just recently visited the faire for the first time with my boyfriend, and he was looking for a performer that no longer seems to be working the faire. i was hoping to see if i could get pointed in the right direction as to what he may be doing now! here is the info i have:

his name was something akin to "brun"
his act was similar-ish to MAM
he had a whip
he did a collab with MooNiE at some point
the last time my partner saw him perform was either 2023 or 2024

any information would be helpful! thank you! (fairy tax below)

Where is Countess Cordelia???

Does Countess Cordelia ever make appearances at the jousts anymore? I haven't seen her since 2024, but I only go once per season, am I just not there on the weekends she is?

Ren Festival

my first festival is coming up, I have an undying love for Merlin and that’s what I’ve revolved my outfit around. I’ve been catching a lot of diss on it because I’m not male. Is it really that big of a deal if I’m doing an obvious female version?

how much should i budget for my first ren faire?

hi friends, i will be attending my first ren faire at the end of the month! i’ll be going to bristol with a friend.

i was wondering—outside of the ticket price—how much should i budget? i want to limit myself in how much money i spend because i can get a little careless sometimes and i need money boundaries. i will say that i don’t drink alcohol, so i don’t need to worry about spending money on that, but i think our plan is to spend basically the whole day there, so i will need to plan for food for sure.

please let me know if you all have any insight on this! thank you in advance!

Pirate Weekend Crowds?

Heading to the faire this weekend and saw another comment about Pirate Weekend being the most crowded. Unfortunately, my group didn't take note of the theme weekends when planning our trip so now we're locked in. We're going on Saturday and are hopeful that the morning rain will deter some crowds.

For those who have gone on Pirate Weekend before, how bad should we expect the crowds to be? We know to always plan for food early in the day, and are fine skipping the joust due to crowds, but we're curious on what to expect from previous experience.

Labor Day

Thinking of going this Labor Day with some friends, but worried about how busy it’ll be. Is this a bad day to consider going and should we try to find another time before then?

2025 vs 2026

2025 (left) was my first year I ever went. I wasn’t really sure what to expect and kept to a pretty tight budget. I didn’t realize it until I went there that I looked like every other amazon copy and paste male. Every piece of clothing was made with 100% polyester.
This year I scrapped everything. I bought new COTTON clothes, wore boots instead of sneakers, and added small details that really finished the look.

Overall i’m very happy with the progression I made between the two years. Is it historically accurate? No. Did I have fun? Yes! Lol.

Heading to the faire

I'm heading to the faire this coming weekend (8/15) and was wondering if there was anything I should go see or do while I'm there, be it shops or shows or games or food? I'd also love to meet people there as well, I know a lot of people wear cool outfits and I would like to take a few photos with people.

Faire today

Did anyone have fun? It was so crowded we had a miserable time. I don't think I saw a single cast member wandering around after 11am. The shows are still cool but some of them are almost impossible to walk around due to all the food lines

As a father...

I am so thankful to the staff on how kid-friendly everyone was. Sure there were 18+ events, but my 8 year old had a blast, and everyone working there that interacted with him made him feel so special. He loved being called "my lord" and he got his very first sword.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. You've guaranteed this dad and his son made a core momeory today.
