Afraid of humans until one day she begged us for food. Meet Pepper!

The CDS was at work and we gained a cat about a month ago. Meet our newest baby tortie, Pepper! She's approximately 8 months old and weighed only 4 lbs and 13 oz when she found us. Photos range from when we found her to now.

She was living in the woods for the last few months near our house. Every time she would see us she would run, until a month ago. We were outside and she came out of the woods crying, approached us, started rubbing against our legs, we fed her, trapped her, and took her to the vet. She gobbled up that first bowl of food like it was the only meal she'd had in weeks, and it probably was.

Now she's a little over 6 lbs! She's healthy and adjusting nicely to spoiled housecat status. She's sweet and spicy and full of energy, but loves naptime too. She's grown closer to her brother, Pistachio, and is trying to earn the trust of her sister, Paprika. She likes to chase Pistachio around the house and play with him. Paprika isn't super fond of Pepper, but she tolerates her existence.

I love my kitties! Thankful for the CSD and it's magical ways.

Pickle and Dilly my little bonded pair

Dilly was part of a group of feral kittens that we trapped during a TNR “event” for the feral colony behind my old house that I held for my birthday a couple of years ago. We were TNR 11 adults and we trapped 8 kittens, 7 that ended up being my foster fails. We lost 1 of them to fading kitten syndrome. Don’t worry, they all were spayed/neutered once they hit 2lbs. For whatever reason as soon as Dilly met Pickle she became attached and wherever you see Pickle you see Dilly. If she can’t find him she walks around the house meowing. There are 2 other tuxies in the group, their names are Gherkin and Refrigerator aka Spicy because since they all look like Pickle my kids wanted them to be types of pickles.

Pistachio & Paprika: Bonded siblings that are less cuddly now

Bonded since they're kittens from the same litter.

We adopted them almost 2 years ago. They used to cuddle constantly when we first got them, but I rarely see them cuddle now. I know cats can become more independent, but I hope they still love each other a ton. They sometimes play a little too hard and it ends in hissing or growling, but overall they get along. Pistachio is a super cuddly, loving boy, and Paprika is a sweet, playful girl. I love them with all my heart.

We recently got a feral cat, Pepper (girl), and it seems like Pistachio is starting to bond with her. I hope Paprika and Pistachio's relationship doesn't become too strained from the new kitty. Paprika still hisses at Pepper occasionally.

I'll make another post to show off Pepper because I already have too many pics. 😅 I really think Pepper and Pistachio are starting to bond after about a month together. 💕

Paprika, Pepper, & Pistachio (2nd pic)

The Spicy & The Nutty

Repost of Paprika & Pepper - full quality image edit. Plus bonus pic of Pistachio & Pepper.

I hope it's ok that I repost this image, the other one didn't upload full quality. Here's the first good photo I have of Paprika (top) and Pepper (bottom). Pepper was recently rescued from the woods near our home, she's feral and is adjust nicely to her new home. We've been together for a little over a month. She's scheduled to get spayed this week and she's adjusting from feral to house cat pretty well.

We've had Paprika and her brother Pistachio (see 2nd slide) for a few years now. Paprika is tolerating Pepper, but she's not a big fan of changes. Lol. Pistachio is pretty chill and happy to have another cat to play with. I love my lil family of kitties!
