Chessnut Move Plastic & Hardcase wait times

There are no specific wait times listed on the website. It just says buy in the next 12 hours and ship in the following few days. Does anyone know how long these preorders are expected to take to be ready? The only information I can find is from 2025, not recent.

ALL the pieces keep disconnecting chessnut move)

Hi

Has anybody have this problem? When I shut down the board, or when it autoshut downs, ALL the pieces disconnect. I have to place each of them one by one back on the charger to make the game work, even when the pieces are full (they are green when I put them on the charger). I just received the game. Worked for about 2 weeks but now every single time the game becomes idle or I shutdown the board, I have to put every single piece back in the charger one by one. This mostly defeats the purpose of the game! Of course, no reply from support hence why I try reddit...

Chessnut Move l, 2 pieces dead after just 3 games. Extremely disappointed. Anyone know what’s happening?

Really gutted to be writing this. Picked up the Chessnut Move excited to finally have a proper e-board setup, and after literally three games, a pawn and a rook have completely stopped registering.

Tried everything I can think of:

•	Full charge on both pieces
•	Resynced the board multiple times
•	Switched between Bluetooth channels
•	Restarted the app

Nothing. The pieces just sit there undetected. The rest of the board works fine, which makes it even more frustrating. it’s clearly an individual piece hardware issue, not a sync problem.

For the price point, I expected a lot better build quality. Has anyone else had pieces fail this quickly? Did Chessnut support actually sort you out with replacements?

Evo chess.com issues

Hello, I just got my Evo today. My primary goal with it was puzzles and games on Chess.com. I am accessing Chess.com via the Play Online button. Did anyone else have serious issues using Chess.com at first? It is super laggy, bot matches will not load, puzzles will not load, and bot matches crash. I also cannot do simple things in online matches like resign or analyze my games. It just never loads, or the regular buttons I would use for those functions do not work. Is this everyone else’s experience? If Chess.com and Chessable are not smooth experiences, then that is an immediate return for me. Online gameplay seemed fine.

Manually moving

Just got my Chestnut Move Chessboard and it won't let me move manually, only through the app. Any ideas on what I'm missing here?

Chessnut Move - those that have it, would you recommend buying it?

I received a board that is a dud, my pieces are twitching like they’re haunted, and the company haphazardly responds to emails - and when they do they offer bizarre solutions (like take the board apart, find a windows laptop and reinstall the firmware yourself)… whilst continuing to ship other orders.

For future buyers I’d like to set up a poll - and for fairness I’d like everyone to chip in, whether it’s been a great experience or not. would you recommend the Chessnut Move?

The Chessnut ‘clock’

Just seen the pricing on this thing.

First presale: $367.20
Second presale: $390.15
Normal price: $459

I don’t know about the rest of you but I would expect almost zero unit sales of this. The price is ludicrous.

I get the point; trying to enable you to play with just the clock and the board. As close to OTB as possible. However, they’re asking people to fork over the cost of a multi functional device like a tablet for a product with limited use. Those of us who don’t like using the app and prefer to use Chessconnect aren’t even likely to consider this product at all.

I bought the DGT 3000, built a box to enable me to use a Bluetooth gateway and connect the clock via chess connect, all for well under £100.

This is the product they should make. I’d have gone down that route to save on the DIY aspect if it was available before I went with the DGT.

Wanting to Sell Evo Board Bundle

Hello,

I’m wanting to sell my EVO board, nothing is wrong with it, I just no longer want it.

I got the glass screen protector on it, the traveling bag, and an extra set of replacement pieces, along with the 2 year warranty. Still have the box and charger as well.

I’m asking for $500 shipping included within the USA

I can send additional pictures as well if requested

Thanks!

Obscene shipping rate increase 2 weeks after order of Move.

Just received an email from Chessnut informing me that my shipping cost to Australia was increasing from US$39.99 to US$194.11

I ordered the Move on 19 May - today is 03 June.

I don't know how the estimate can be off by 385% but that makes the shipping rate equivalent to 25% of the cost of the board after the Whiggi affiliate link discount of US$112.56 or 18% of the TOTAL ORDER.

It's a change being blamed on the logistics partner - but having a shipping estimate out by 385% is just as much a reflection on Chessnut and it's ability to deliver these products.

Boards have been sent to Australia before and there are no new factors from the last 2 months that would drive up the cost this much.

Screenshot attached for proof of communication.

Chessnut Move board not connecting - from the May 2026 batch of deliveries.

i’m part of the recent batch to have just received their Chessnut Moves in the last couple of weeks, and it looks like a high number of them are faulty with the following (attached photo) when i try to connect the board.

i have tried charging everything till they are green (with a 20W+ charger), but as soon as i disconnect the board from a power source the power light red and the board doesn’t connect to anything.

Has anyone found any solutions or will i have to ask Chessnut for a new board (and possibly wait another few months)? Luckily i bought through Amex so can get them to refund me and have them chase chessnut.

CHESSNUT Move

Got my board yesterday after waiting ~3 months. Right off the bat, charged pieces and one bishop wouldn’t take a charge. Switched base with extra provided, worked. Played a few games and worked great.

Pieces seem to die quite quickly, got 3 games in before some died. Plugged in to charge overnight.

Today woke up and it wont let me play, half of the pieces won’t sync in the app, and if you set up board manually whatever you move immediately moves back, rendering this useless.

I’ve tried pairing/syncing pieces to no avail. Anyone encounter something similar or have any hacks here?

Chessnut not fully turning on

EDIT to the EDIT: So seems like it might not have been a bad SD Card, but either the SD Card reader or some other component, but the matter of the fact is that it just melted the SD Card replacement I used and for science I tried a third one and it was already starting to overheat so just turned it off and removed. I have emailed the support and hopefully I can get a replacement. The steps to check if your issue is similar to mine are the same, retrieve the SD card and see if it's corrupted, if it is, probably having the same issue as me (another option is to try to recall if you ever felt like the board was getting hot close to the A row.

EDIT: Turns out the problem was a bad SD Card. If anyone is facing the same problem, the easiest way to check if this is the problem is by opening the lid with the battery pack at the bottom of the board. That should give you access to the board where it should have a black tape in it, under the blacktape you should find the SD Card, if you remove it and plug it to the PC through any SD card reader, you should be able to tell if it's corrupted or not. If it is, there you go, that is your issue, you will need a new SD card and the firmware (I have received through the customer support, I will ask if I can share it, but otherwise just reach out to customer service and describe your findings). BE WARNED, DO THIS ONLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE RISK OF VOIDING WARRANTY OR YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE TECHNICAL SIDE OF THINGS

I had my chessnut move board turned off and unplugged for like 2 weeks, and when trying to turn it on today, it just didn't, assumed lack of battery and plugged it in, tried to turn it on, and it did, it would enable the bluetooth but never get the green light for the pieces (Pieces are fully charged), I would try to connect to the bluetooth both through the chessnut app and chessconnect. They managed to connect, but then they would not be able to communicate any further, not even get battery level.

At the moment, while plugged in, it shows the solid green light in the power LED as if fully charged, but if I try to turn it on it just repeats the same behaviour, it never turns fully green, does not detect the pieces, connects through bluetooth but does nothing once connected and after a while just powers off. This behaviour is consistent with it being plugged in or not.

I have tried using the pinhole to reset the boards, which force shutdown the board (only way to do it other than waiting it out after turning on, if I turn it on I can't turn it off any otherway than waiting or pinhole)
I have also tried pressing the four buttons with the board turned on and off and never did anything.

Any suggestions? Or is this something for tech support? (I am trying to avoid them as they have been "very helpful" in the past?

1-day and piece stopped working and replacement not pairing

So, I opened my board yesterday, had a great time with the first couple of games, then one piece just got stuck moving in a semicircle, tried to clear the wheels and motor, still doing it, only got 2 replacement bases, changed the base, and the replacement won't pair! Have moved the board away from anything and tried multiple times still won't connect, even deleted the channels to see if that was the problem!

Has anybody had anything similar?
