[FS] - LOMBARD - genius baby ivory mystery snails ($2 - runts | $5 - bigger) + amazon frogbit
[UPDATE]: I decided I need to give them away instead because they’re getting big fast!! I was just hoping to have some pocket money since I’m in school but I’d rather get these guys rehomed sooner! I don’t think I can change the title so I may repost soon.
I played “Mozart for babies” for them while they were in the egg clutch so they could develop powerful genius brain waves. Unsure if it worked but if interested in these little Einsteins please inquire.
I am very picky with the behavior of the pets I choose & I watch these guys all day because I barely go outside. They seemed to have inherited all the positive traits of their parents and are the best-behaved healthiest snails I’ve ever seen. Even out of all the runts, it appears that only one has died. I used to anguish and worry about my snails while I was away during the day. I never thought I would use this word to describe snails but these guys are the most independent & sensible snails I’ve ever had. If I could liken them to a dog breed, they would be the Shiba Inu of the snail world. I kept a little notebook where I tracked their behavior. If there’s such thing as designer snail breeder I might be one at this point. Here’s a detailed account of their behavior and family history:
• The babies were born from a love story: I bought Mama snail already as an older snail and she was failing to thrive. I brought home Papa snail and she perked up, rushed over to greet him and touched him with her antennae. They would graze side by side together crawling along the tank and would parasnail and land on each other sometimes. She was healthy and lively from that day on until she passed.
• Super unbothered by fish. Papa snail learned on day 1 how to retract antennae to avoid nipping, then Mama snail learned from him and started to roam freely without fear. As shown in video babies are displaying the same fast predictive reflexes (snail on left under papa snail’s foot when betta approaches) but can’t guarantee each one is a genius as I have not assessed them all.
• Parents = peak snail specimen of fitness and intelligence. Once somehow beat my betta to a piece of food (⁉️*🤯) and learned to stand on top of it/push it into corners to keep it awa*y from her.
• Mama snail passed (1+ years old, old age?) shortly after they started to hatch. Hoping they can all go to loving homes since they’re now orphans except for their deadbeat dad who’s been holding the food away from them to hoard it for himself (pictured).
Currently about pea sized but willing to part with the runts too if anyone is willing to take them in and can give them lots of TLC. Will also throw in a bit of Amazon frogbit if desired!
