Looking to purchase Autopots

This question is for anyone with experience in the matter. I’m about to pull the trigger on some Autopots. I’ve grown soil mostly and have grown drip fed coco. There’s a few configuration options when it comes to Autopots. I’m looking at the 3.9g hard pot system. There’s an option where they come with the air bases and air domes and one that doesn’t come with those for a good bit cheaper. Do the air domes and bases make any significant difference in growth rate or yields to justify a $45 difference over a 2 pot system?

I see the tray 2 grow system as well, I wasn’t really considering that one but if anyone has any experience with it and a convincing argument for why I should get it instead of the other systems, I’m all ears (eyes) and open minded.

Either way I’m making an Autopot purchase today so I’d love to get this conversation rolling and get some feedback

Watering volumes and EC uncertainty in first grow.

I'm growing for the first time, using coco and perlite 70/30, canna A & B for nutrients and cal-mag, they are in 3.9 gallon autopots, but the system is not on yet.

My plants are about 20 days old and seem to be doing quite well, at least they don't seem unhappy and the growth seems rapid.

However I've just begun checking run-off EC and I've noticed it is Extremely high. At about 4200.

My input EC is around 1300.

As I understand it, it should be within 300 or so. So something is wrong.

Am I watering too little and infrequently? I had been doing 500 ML twice a day. Which seemed like enough because the media didn't seem dry and the plants seemed happy.

To correct this, because of the extreme discrepancy the suggestion appears to be to flush approximately 12-16 gallons of low EC feed water through each pot? Is this true? I'd really rather not do that and I'm tempted to just let it ride or start over.

Green Planet Nutrients safe for drip irrigation system?

I’m about to use green planet nutrients for my current run. I’m using a drip irrigation system with a nutrient tank I set up every 5-7 days.
So I was wondering which of their products fits in my schedule? I want no bio film to build up in my tank and no dripper to clog. Are they PH drifting?

I’m growing in 5l pots with 100% coco coir, dtw setup.
I’m interested in their Hydro 4-Part, Rezin and liquid weight.
I got some leftover PK and CaMg from Athena which im about to include in my schedule.

Mild leaf discoloration

Hi yall! I’ve grown a few times in the past in soil, but this is my first time in coco. So far, things are growing pretty well. I’m following the direction of Coco for Cannabis, and I’m on the second week (Early Veg) section of their seedling feed chart using Gen Hydro ferts (~600 EC that’s increasing gradually and ~6.0 pH).

Only issue seems to be this mild white discoloration on the young leaves. Of my ten plants, on TWO seem to have it, and I’ve been treating them all the same, so it’s a bit strange.

Any ideas what this could be or if it’s even an issue? please don’t say its a pest or I will cry :)

Thanks!

PS: foam elevators will be swapped out for something more sturdy, this is just temporary to allow for enough height to reach the condensate pump. Also—large plant was started about 1 week prior to the smaller ones, hence the size.

Coco no perlite

I’m currently trying out coco without perlite. I used to do 20-30% perlite. But I got a working and precise irrigation for this grow and now I’m able to feed multiple times a day with little shots. Trying to do some ‘manual crop steering’ with the help of Athena booklet and free information i can find on the internet.
I’m worried if I’m underestimating the need of perlite or if it’s rly not that necessary as I was thinking with this style of irrigating.
I’m in 5.6l pots btw (~1.5 gal).
What do yall think about coco without perlite and especially in my case?

Anyone have any idea what's wrong with my girls?

Hi guys.

4 Jehovas Witness going in a 5x5.

1000W light on 25%

2.2L autopots (not turned on yet) 65/35 Canna coco/perlite.

Coco pre soaked to 5.5 ph (may have ended up around 5.7 or so) with small amount of Canna nutes and calmag.

Tent has been reasonably steady at 78 degrees the whole time.

Struggling with humidity which is fluctuating quite a lot.

I wet the tent sides and have multiple soaked towels on the floor and over my intake duct from outside. Have ordered a humidifer.

Goes from around 50% up to 75% then drops back down as I'm out of the house.

Started off with humidity domes in the first week and took them off as the plants reached the edges.

3 of my 4 look really weird.

Has anyone had this issue? They are 2 weeks and 2 days old.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Major cation exchange issue..?

WTF? Coco pH keeps CLIMBING despite 5.0 pH flushes. I’m about to lose it.

I’m in early flower with two autos (SLAMberry x Orange Portal, and an S.B.C.H x Dreamcast both by SpeedRun seeds)in cloth pots with coco, and I am stuck in a groundhog day type scenario and am starting to lose confidence. More so I just feel really bad that they're suffering.

I’ve been feeding both:

8mL/gal Fox Farm Bush Doctor Cal-Mag

4mL/gal Humboldts Secret Part A (4-0-1)

4mL/gal Humboldts Secret Part B (1-4-2)

pH'd down to 5.7 - 5.8 normally.

The Issue:

My runoff skyrocketed to I’ve been trying to "Nuclear Purge" this shit for two days. Today, I’ve been pouring in full-strength nutrients adjusted to a pH of 5.0

The runoff is actually getting HIGHER. I just got a 6.82 and a 6.72 after putting gallons of 5.0 through them. How the fuck is the pH going UP when I’m hitting it with straight acid?

This coco WAS buffered before the pots were packed.

Runoff was totally healthy/normal for weeks.

Environment: 79°F, 61% RH (1.32VPD), CO2 580ppm.

PPFD 468

Medium WC is 44%, EC is low (.19).

The plants are starting to yellow at the top (Iron/Lockout) and I’m about to lose this entire medicine run. Both of my herniated discs are absolutely screaming from lugging these gallons and I’m seeing zero progress.

Is the coco breaking down? Is there some kind of insane salt precipitation happening that raises pH? I have never seen a medium fight back this hard before.

Please help.

First days with cuts in coco

I’ve recently been struggling the first days with cuts when planted in coco. They always turned out great, but the struggle I have in the beginning costs me like a week.
So how do talk start a new grow with cuts in coco? Do yall water the coco completely before planting in the cuts? Or just a bit moist? Do u already water daily till drain the first few days or just every few days? High ec?

It usually took me about 5-7 days till my cuts look fully healthy and I started to water daily

I’m about to plant my cuts in 5l coco no perlite.
Cuts all rooted and from a trustable source

I already looked for answers on cocoforcannabis to this particular topic, but couldn’t find any.
I once saw a YouTube video where the guy explain pretty good how to start the grow with cuts in coco , but I can’t find it anywhere

Stretching too hard!

Day 13 of flower 🙏
Plants have nearly tripled in size since flip and I’m running out of vertical space fast. Running Crop Salt in coco/perlite with autopots.
Currently about 10 inches from my LED with lights already at max height. I do have a large flood tray under the autopots I can remove which should give me an extra 4-6 inches of clearance.

Not looking to supercrop.

any other suggestions to slow the stretch and buy me some time? Stretch should naturally slow around day 18-21 so just need to survive the next week! 😅

Seed sac or swollen calyx

I’ve struggled with herms to varying degrees past couple runs. I’ve tried to correct my mistakes and have been feeling good about this run. I started freaking out today and fingerfucking my plants. I have want to say I’m just being crazy. Any input appreciated
