Hello again, everybody,

After posting Trade Finder on Reddit for the first time yesterday and getting some user feedback I spent the majority of last night and today working on implementing the suggested features. This is a substantial set of updates that changes the entire flow of the website.

1. The first and biggest change that I wanted to incorporate was suggested by u/Jygglewag who suggested having the listings page be the de facto home page and make it so you can view it before creating an account. This is hopefully going to be an impactful change as now users can see available listings and see if there are users in their area before creating an account.

I didn't create any new authorization flows for this, but it did change a lot of the routing for the site, as now the index page is the listings page and clicking new listing, message, view messages, or trying to view another user's profile page will now redirect to the log in/sign up page if the user isn't logged in.

2. The second largest change is the inclusion of the ability to use your postal/zip code when filtering for nearby listings rather than having to give the site access to your location. This was suggested by u/zaphodava who pointed out that not everybody will want to or be able to use their location services and would prefer just using their postal codes.

3. The third update is the introduction of a welcome modal after the first log in or after creating a new account. This was something I decided to add as it will give users some initial direction as to how the site works.

This was a good set of updates for this early in the sites lifetime and I do believe that putting listings right at the front will increase user interaction and reduce the bounce rate being caused by seeing a log in page as soon as the site was loaded.

Hi everybody, I recently graduated from college with a diploma in computer programming and analysis. After graduation, I wanted to start and work on a project aligned with my interests and that could have a real application. As a big Magic the Gathering fan, this led me to creating a site called Trade Finder. Trade Finder is a platform where users can create listings, set a location, and other users can reply in hopes they will work out trade details and meet up locally to trade.

The goal of Trade Finder is to help players meet new people, find the cards they want, and step away from always buying cards and paying shipping. Rather than always going online and buying a card users could first post on here to see if anyone has the card they are looking for and would be willing to trade. While developing the site I've envisioned it helping people make new friends they can play with and maybe get them out and interacting with their communities. Stores could see increased traffic as that would be somewhere the users could meet up safely and new playgroups could be formed.

The site is still being worked on. It currently uses scryfall's API for all card details, has a listings page with the option to filter by your location, a built in messager to communicate with other users, and a rating system for if a trade is completed. I wanted to get the core fundamentals in place and then get feedback from users on what they think would be useful features or areas they think could be improved. I finally sat down and cracked open the Pre-Release Bundle for MSH. These are the first magic boosters I have opened since 5th Edition and the Ice Age Set.

The promo card was a foil The Serpent Society and the best pull i think was the Invisible Woman Full Art. I know Squirrel Girl is a popular card.

I am a massive Comic Book Nerd who happens to like MtG. I had not played Magic since Ice Age(?).

I recently discovered MtG Arena which led me to discover the Marvel Superheroes and Spiderman Sets that have come out.

The collector in me has decided to build a Master Set of each. I am specifically looking for cards that match some comic covers I own.

I have buying a lot of product over the last month but I have yet to open a single box or pack yet. I am waiting until next week when I am taking short medical leave from work.

Bonus I got my wife interested and she bought some FF Decks, her first magic cards in 20 years.

I finally collected every single Emblem Foil of the Jurassic World set. I just wanted to show it off to y'all. I have the rest of the set in a binder with both of the SL's as well
