Discord community? (Page for attention!)

Looking for an existing discord or maybe to start a server with coloring book artists(creators) and colorists alike. Are you part of something like this??

Not trying to take away from our amazing sub here, just a less pressure place to post progress/ ask questions in a smaller community/ format and also connect with hand drawn artists who are creating pages.

Edit because apparently I have widely offended the masses by preferring to color non-AI. Color all the AI you want, I have no problem with AI. I do have a problem with being attacked however.

I think this group really needs a clear stand on AI generated work.

To be clear: I am not against AI generated work, as such. I think it is fine to use AI in your workflow as inspiration or as an assistant while adding your own touch. And with that I think I have already a more liberal view than most on AI generated work!

However, I think it is not okay to put out some AI generated work while claiming a) it is your work and b) it was not AI generated. This is just dishonesty and in general we (in this subreddit) don’t like to be lied to or taken advantage of.

Unfortunately, there is no rule (yet) that says one should clearly state something is AI generated. Rule no 1 is: be nice, but how civil is it when a poster tries to fool the audience?

But pointing out the AI tell-tales puts one immediately in the mod’s crosshairs and many comments were already removed. But is this being nice? I would say: fair is nice!

Please add a rule that makes it mandatory for the poster to be clear if the image was AI generated or not.

I just released my first coloring book and I'd love to share it with this community — free PDF for anyone who wants to color some pages 🌿

Hi everyone! I'm an indie creator and I just published my first coloring book — a cozy fantasy world filled with kawaii axolotl characters, sea creatures, moonlit forests and crystal gardens.

It's called Lumimoor and it's 50 single-sided pages with thick clean outlines — works great with colored pencils or markers.

I'm giving away the PDF for free to anyone who wants to color some pages. No strings attached, just happy to share it with people who love coloring.

Drop a comment or DM me if you'd like a copy 😊

Do Coco Wyo coloring books with a transparent background exist? Help!

I have downloaded some Coco Wyo coloring book freebies, and I really love the style. I’m interested in buying more coloring pages, but it’s kinda annoying not having the transparent background. I already do the hack where I change the setting for the coloring page layer to multiply or linear burn and set it to reference, which helps. But I like to color the line art, which I can only do if the line art has a transparent background. Do any of these coloring books have transparent backgrounds for digital downloads? Or is there a way to color the line art without having a transparent background?

I made a colour-by-letter book with circles on black pages, here's what a finished page looks like

I've been working on a colouring book series called NOVI Books that's a bit different from what's out there. Instead of outlines, each page is a grid of circles with letters inside. You match each letter to a colour, fill in the circles, and a pixel art image appears.

A few things I obsessed over while designing it:

  • 160gsm paper I use water-based acrylic markers and wanted zero bleed-through (though I include protective sheets anyway)
  • Wire-O binding lays completely flat, folds back on itself
  • Black pages the colours pop way more on black than on white
  • 24 colours mapped to letters A-X no hunting for colour #17, you just grab the marker with the right letter

The designs are all pixel art: animals, landmarks, landscapes. Each page has about 2000+ circles.

Biggest limitation currently: I only ship within the Netherlands for now. But if you're curious, there's a free tool on my site where you can upload any image and try the concept yourself: novibooks.nl/try-it

I'm a student developer and I built a relaxing coloring app with no expensive subscriptions. I'd love your feedback, so I'm giving away 50 Premium codes to r/Colouring! 🎨

Hey everyone! I’m a 21-year-old CS student and solo developer from Ukraine. I really wanted a clean, relaxing space for digital art therapy, but the big coloring apps on the App Store charge crazy subscriptions (up to $100/year).

So, I spent the last few months building my own alternative — Intuitive Coloring. Because life is beautiful when it's colorful. ✨

It’s designed to be as calming as possible. It features:

  • Haptic feedback
  • Smooth gradient fills and custom palettes
  • An import tool so you can color your own line art

The base version is totally free to use, but to celebrate the launch, I generated 50 unique promo codes for a free month of Premium just for this community.

Drop a comment below if you want to try it out, and I’ll DM you your unique code! I would absolutely love your feedback on the coloring experience and UI.

Looking for feedback on a new cozy coloring book project I’m working on ✨

Hi everyone 🙂

A little while ago, I shared my first coloring book here and got a lot of genuinely helpful feedback from people — especially about line weight, readability, and how the art comes across online.

I’ve been taking a lot of that into account while working on a new unfinished project, and I wanted to share one of the pages to get your thoughts so far.

I’m trying to keep the illustrations cute, cozy, and easy to color without making the scenes feel too empty or overwhelming.

So I’d genuinely love to know:

  • Does the page feel fun to color?
  • Is the line weight comfortable/readable enough?
  • Does the composition feel too busy, too empty, or balanced?
  • Is there anything you personally look for in cozy coloring pages that you think is missing here?

I’m still experimenting and learning, so any honest feedback is super appreciated 🤍

A magical night in the forest

The moonglow effect didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped, but overall I’m pretty happy with it 😊✨
