Week staying in Corfu town (no car) recommendations?

I’m travelling over with my best friend to Corfu in late September for a week. We are both female, in our 30s. We are staying in Corfu town and neither of us drive so no rental car. I’d love to see a bit more off the beaten track if possible (accessible by bus or occasional taxi).

Are there any must-see spots or activities for our week long trip? We both enjoy nature, snorkelling, boat rides (might rent a boat if not too pricey?), art, culture, classical history, wine tasting, good food (I’m vegetarian but my friend eats everything), bars with nice views, spots to see traditional Greek music etc?

I’ve done a bit of research already but interested to hear what people think is really worth it, such as any day trips or excursions. Thanks :) 🙏

South Corfu - 10 year wedding anniversary meal recommendations

I am visiting Corfu with my husband and our anniversary will be while we are out there. We are staying in a villa in the middle of nowhere near Chalikounas. We will have a car and would love to go somewhere for our anniversary. It doesn't have to be fancy, but would it to have a bit of 'wow' i.e. beautiful surroundings, able to watch the sunset etc. Can anyone recommend anywhere? We may or may not have our daughters with us (5 and 7) depending on whether our MIL is coming along. Thank you!

What is with the taxi (Uber) rates in Corfu?

Hi.

So i booked my hotel, 5 km away from the corfu town, thinking to get a taxi back to hotel if i stay late at night. I thought it will be reasonable and affordable. But my uber app shows 40 Eur minimum. It is literally 5 km to Ariti hotel.

Any idea? Or shall i just get a taxi on the road?

Paxos/Antipaxos boar tours from Corfu. Is it worth it?

Hi all.

I will travel solo to Corfu for a week. Already doing my itinerary, combining some boat tours, beach days and other activities.

Touristic Paxos boat tours are very popular as far as i understand . But the thing is it takes 10 hrs - let’s say a whole day. My question 1 is that is it really worth spending all day to take it, as Corfu island itself offers a lot of beauties? Q2:, it seems like these tours are more for families with kids. Do you think a chill/single dude (44) like me will get a bit bored? Ps. I am already from a Mediterranean sea town and visited almost all well known greek islands.

Car rental vs hiring a car in Corfu

Staying on the lower east side of Corfu (Moraitikia) area and need to go to northwest side where it seems most of the boat rentals and beach clubs are. Is it better to rent our own car and drive ourselves there and back? Or should we hire hire someone to drive us, do they have taxis that will do that? Are the roads difficult to drive? Thank you!;

Corfu city to Palaiokastritsa - can u get there with bus and average travel time?

Dear r/Corfu,

My girlfriend and I, are visiting Corfu in start August and have booked our trip to Palaiokastritsa. I have read that u can take the bus to the destination with an average time of aprox 1 hour. The route from PALLADA_OLD KTEL_CORFU to PALAIOKASTRITSA 7 TERMA

And what does the OUT and IN mean on the website?

Though when I log into the ticket website (https://ktelbus.gr/ker/ticketweb/) I cannot book tickets in advance other than 1 day (tomorrow) and the average travel time is stated as 2 hours and 24 minutes?

If anyone has experienced this route, and overall public transport on Corfu, please write your experiences. All help is appreciated :)

Visit AntiPaxos from Corfu

Hi, I'll be in Corfu in August and am hoping to take a day trip to swim near Antipaxos. I heard it is the bluest water of Greece. It seems like only big boats are doing day trips from Corfu Old Town and stopping in Paxos, too. Are there any smaller tours I could take to swim mostly? At a reasonable price for 2? Thanks

what to see in corfu?

Hi we are planning to travel to corfu this summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for nice places to visit, restaurants, cafes, bars. I'd also really appreciate any recommendations for beautiful beaches (preferably less crowded not so popular). Or if you know any hidden gems that are worth visiting please share them.

Quel GPS pour Corfou

Bonjour

J'ai déjà visité l'île 3 fois et a chaque fois le GPS me guidait sur des routes soit abandonnées soit en très mauvais état. Quelle application GPS vous semble la plus efficace pour l'île de Corfou ?

En vous remerciant par avance

Green Motion Car Rental is a Scam Company - DO NOT rent from Green Motion

I rented a car from Green Motion at Corfu Airport. The car rental service shuttles you to their building from the airport. I received a dented, scratched vehicle that appeared to have been in many accidents before. I took photos and inspected the vehicle with an employee to document it so there were no issues on return.

Three days later I return the car with zero incidents and upon inspection an employee is trying to tell me that I scratched the back door and back fender. I show him photos and then run my finger across the "scratch" and it comes off because it was only dirt/residue. He then sticks his fingers under the wheel well and pulls the car plastic telling me that I cracked the fender and says no scratch but crack. This "crack" was so minor that the naked eye would not be able to see it unless you got in close with a microscope and pulled the fender from the wheel well as he did.

I refused to pay the $400 USD and was threatened with not receiving my $1000 USD deposit back that I had to pay upon renting the car. I had a flight to catch and ended up paying the charge.

I am disgusted at the way I and others were treated and believe the people that run this business are an organized crime group. I had spoke with two other families returning their vehicles and they were all charged for damages on their rental vehicles. They did this to three customers within a 15-minute time span. They are not even trying to be discreet about their illegal business practices. I ended up exchanging contact information with the other victims and we are working on resolving this.

TLDR: Rent from a reputable rental car company, Green Motion is a scam company and it goes beyond Corfu to other locations (see link for other peoples experiences with Green Motion)

Best places to stay in Corfu

It seems like most of the hotels a booked and they’re on the water, which is nice but we’re looking at a villa and most of them are in the mountains. One is closer in Dassia, but there’s a really matter if you have a car what area of the island you’re staying in?
