Struggling to find accommodation in Cork as an incoming student

Hi everyone, I'm going to be starting college in Cork in September and I'm a bit scared at this point that I won't find somewhere in time. The market seems incredibly tough and I've been searching for a while now with not much luck.

I'm looking for a double room (staying with my boyfriend) somewhere reasonably close to the city centre. We have references and we're not smokers or drinkers, just a quiet couple looking for a stable place to live.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and managed to find something? What worked for you? Are there any platforms, groups or agencies I should be looking at that I might be missing?

And if anyone happens to know of a room going or has something available themselves, I would genuinely appreciate it. Anything helps at this point!!

Thanks in advance 🙏

New build in mallow

Hello, thinking of buying a new build house in one of the new estates in Mallow. Has anyone bought a house in one of these estates and if so how are you getting on? There’s Rose hill, Old course and Rahan View. Which one is the better option and why? All feedback, comments and suggestions welcome.

Looking For Apartment

Hello!

Me and a group of 3 friends are looking to move to cork from Hungary, we haven't had much luck finding any apartments really, most of our e-mails aren't being replied to. The group is looking to rent anywhere from 3 months to 2 years. If anyone has any recommendations as for who to message or an apartment they are looking to rent we are more than thankful for it.

Couple looking for housing in Cork

As a Cork native finding a place to live in my own city shouldn't be mission impossible.

My partner and I are looking for a 1 or 2 bed pretty much anywhere in Cork, our budget is up to 2500 and still we get no responses. We have a newborn baby and we are forced to live in a room in my mom's house but I really want to give her back her space.

Does anyone know a private landlord renting a 1 or 2 bed? Any leads would be greatly appreciated

Longview, Ballyvolane

Hi all,

Myself and my wife are buying a new build in Ardán View here in Cork. We’re at the contracts stage now with move-in early 2027, and we’re fairly new to the area and honestly fairly new to this whole buying a house thing too, so I thought I’d put up a post and see who else is in the same boat as us.

Would be lovely to chat to a few of our future neighbours before we all move in, and it’d be cool to hear from anyone who’s already bought or recently moved into the estate because we’ve got no major clue on a lot of the stuff yet. Things like snagging, what to actually budget for beyond the price, kitchen and upgrade decisions, broadband, bins, management fees, all the bits nobody really tells you about.

If anyone fancies it I’m happy to add you to the WhatsApp group we’ve made for the estate so we can all compare notes as things go along. Drop a comment or a DM, would genuinely love to chat. Cheers!

Looking for accommodation

Hey there! I'm looking for accommodation within a 25- 30-minute (max) walking distance from UCC. I am a final-year female international student. My budget is 750-800€ per month, including bills. If you know anyone who is renting out a room or if you have any advice, that'd be much appreciated.

Edenhall Accommodation Upfront Payment

Hi everyone,

I'm a visiting Student at UCC starting my studies for one semester in September. I was offered a room at Edenhall, but I am a little anxious about it as they demand payment for 4 months upfront.

Did anybody else experience the same which makes this normal or ist this unusual? I am afraid of being scammed as I pay the full amount before I am even able to see the room.

Thanks for any insights!
