In this feature preview, we take a look at the F-100D’s customization options, including dynamic victory markings, custom instrument panel layouts, Mission Editor aircraft configuration options, and Special Options settings.
These features allow you to personalize the Hun with air-to-air and air-to-ground victory marks, create your own custom dash layout, randomize between historically accurate cockpit layouts, configure aircraft equipment, adjust startup behavior, and set up the aircraft for the way you want to fly.
This is a pretty great technical analysis of the current SA/detection logic and constraints (or lack thereof) for DCS AI. Lots of very valuable information here for anyone invested in the sp portion of DCS.
For anyone not aware of the channel, it excels at technical analysis of all things DCS, primarily with a sp focus, but delves into mp as well. Karon is quite critical of the current state; has been for years. No sugarcoating here. The only problem I have with the channel is that the content can be quite dry and hard to consume due to its very technical nature. The content itself, however, is unmatched and data-driven.
In this feature preview, we take a look at the F-100D’s Gun and Strike Camera system. This built-in recording feature allows players to capture, save, and review gun runs, rocket attacks, and strike passes directly from the aircraft.
Special thanks to Captain Bob Ward for providing real 1970 gun and strike camera footage from his time with the 612th TFS, 35th TFW, at Phan Rang Air Base, South Vietnam.
