Purpose and intent

Due to our voting system, legislative elections have repeatedly had similar results where a majority of the seats get won by a single voting bloc, with one opposition bloc being in control of the rest of the seats, essentially making the election only between their endorsed candidates. This has severely decreased the competition in legislative elections and has led to "third parties" dying out. This amendment seeks to increase the amount of candidates one can rank in elections, to try to help counter this.

Provisions

The following part of the constitution of the Democracy of Reddit:

Votes shall be in descending order of popularity, with the amount of preference choices being whatever amount is enough to give a majority in Parliament.

Shall be replaced with:

Votes shall be in descending order of popularity, with the amount of preference choices being whatever amount is enough to give a 2/3rds majority in Parliament.

Representative Gender in Party Candidates Act

Section I. Purpose and Intent

I admit, the “Be nice to everyone including girls act” doesn’t really do anything of substance, and so now it is time for a serious proposal that actually does. While we need to of course listen to unheard or unrepresented voices, we need to do so in a way that balances a fair system with promoting these voices. We subscribe to the idea that women are a very small chunk of this server, and that in the past events have caused a spread of sexism and specific individuals leaving due to discrimination, and so we must promote females to office so that we may hear these voices, while also agreeing to the idea that any individual, regardless of gender, has to be elected fairly, as by their own beliefs. This bill attempts to rectify that, keeping a balance of these two things. 

Section II. Definitions

• “Girl/Woman/Female”: anyone who says they are a girl, particularly if they have filled out the census and claimed to be a girl.

 

Section III. Provisions

1. Any Registered Party within the DOR is required to have one female candidate for the legislative elections for every 6 candidates they propose. If a party sends out 6, one of them must be female; if they send out 12, 2 of them must be female; etc.
2. This rule does not apply to Unregistered Parties, as they do not have enough members to clear the minimum requirement regardless.
3. This rule does not apply if a party does have women in it, and they choose not to run voluntarily, leaving no other women left. All women in a party must be asked in this case, and if they all decline, their refusal must be posted alongside the party candidate list post.
4. No restrictions are to be made to the General Legislative Election within this bill, all candidates are up to the will of the electorate.

Section IV. Enforcement

The PM or President shall have the legal requirement and obligation to enforce these rulings.

Section V. Implementation and Oversight

a. This bill shall take effect immediately upon passage by Parliament. b. The Prime Minister shall ensure its implementation and report any noncompliance to the Legislature within fourteen (14) days.

Section VI. Amendments and Repeal

a. This Act may be amended by a simple majority vote of Parliament and approval by the President. b. Any previous acts or resolutions in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Section VII. Effective Date

This Act shall take effect immediately upon passage by Parliament and approval by the President.

Since we can't figure out how to stop being mean to girls I have proposed a simple law to be nice to the girls instead :)))))

Section II. Definitions

Provide clear definitions of key terms used throughout the bill.

A girl is anyone who says they are a girl, particularly if they have filled out the census and claimed to be a girl.

A "non-male identifying" individual is literally anyone who isn't a boy!

Section III. Provisions

The following rules shall be added to our Laws.

1. All parties must run atleast 1 non-male identifying individual in Parliament, and must include a promise to have one as apart of the cabinet for any Presidential run.
2. Parties which fail to do so will have their candidates removed from the election cycle YAY!
3. Boys under the age of 18 who do not have at least one citable instance of being nice to a girl as a direct comment or post will be barred from office! :D
4. If Parliament fails to have atleast 1 non-male identifying individual on the roster at any given time - the parliament is dissolved, and the subreddit is deleted! XD

Section IV. Enforcement

The PM or President shall have the obligation to enforce these rulings, and failure to do so will remove them from office via the court system LOL!

The Freedom to Hunt Act

Section I:Purpose and Intent

WHEREAS:The fishing and hunting industry is heavily restrained by war and regulations;
WHEREAS:Taking special decisions to bring an industry from collapse must be done;
WHEREAS:The right to profit is inherently human;
THEREFORE:We must de-regulate it.

Section II:Provisions

1:Hunting, Fishing and Whaling industries have the right to hunt as much as they so wish, exceptions are:
1.1:If the animal is on a reservation.
1.2:If the animal is owned by someone.
1.3:The animal is considered endangered.
2:Causing unnecessary harm will still be considered cruelty, but with only one exception:
2.1:Only if it is by a sport or event that is culturally relevant by a province.
3:Any Act that would enter conflict with this one shall be deemed invalid.

Section III:Enforcement

The National and Local governments shall be in charge of enforcing this Act.

Section IV:Effective date

This Act will be effective immediately when it is passed by the parliament and signed by the president.

1. Any person who uses slurs to describe another person within the house of commons will be timed out for a period of one day.

This nuclear weapon may not be fired on civilian targets, and may be only fired within the DoR's borders to minimize the international incident. This weapon may ONLY be used if Fonend crosses the below line, meaning we are getting destroyed in the conflict.

Any launch must be approved by the President and the Legislature.
