My Experience Using Eclipse

I’ve been using Eclipse since yesterday.

Here’s my experience so far.

Installing the app:

Pretty much it’s just go to the website and download Apple flight test, then click on the install eclipse app, grant some premises and that’s it.

App Setup:

The register is quick and easy, the It’s a little bit confusing since you have to go to the addons section on the web and install —eclipse addon store—

Here’s where’s became a bit confusing… you can install addons directly from the eclipse addon and it’s quick and easy, but in the eclipse web and here on Reddit many people said that you need to install the addons in certain way to make the app fully working.

Currently I have just two addons:

SpotiFLAC - Installed via Eclipse iOS app (Eclipse Addon Store — Store)
Monochrome for Eclipse Installed via (Open Eclipse → Settings → Connections → Add Connection → Addon)

The integration it’s pretty seamless, unless you are an advanced user and you can choose more options.

Bugs / Issues / Odd behaviors

• After install and first hour testing, my iPhone overheated so bad and my battery drain super fast, plugged to wall charger and charged from 17% to 21% and started to drain again while plugged to wall charger.

• Can’t search music any song or artist, the says “Try searching for something else or check your spelling” all the music that I’ve been listening to is from community playlists and then, when I touch in the name of the artist, I can access to the whole artist library.

• Share playlist link takes too long to fetch and when it’s ready, when I share the link and try to open, throws an error “this share link has expired or doesn’t exist”. Tried several times and still shows the same error.

• When open the app after closed for a few hours, the iPhone overheats again and battery drains super fast. After a while, seems to stabilize.
• The overheating issues seems to be while using AirPlay.

• After using for a while the app, sometimes can’t add songs to a playlist or my library.

• Sometimes songs are confused or mismatched, for example: I played Gorillaz Happy Dictator and reproduced another Gorillaz song, with the Haappy Dictator’s Lyrics

• I was looking for Cloud Addon (Devs Paid Addon) and can’t find it.

The Good things

• Replay works perfectly.

• After battery drain stabilizes, seems that using with AirPlay it’s super battery friendly, decreases so much less than using Apple Music with AirPlay.

• Audio quality it’s superb.

• Using X (formerly Twitter) and watching videos at the same time while using Apple Music and AirPlay sometimes X hijacks AirPlay and music stops, then the audio from the video of X reproduces on AirPlay and not on the iPhone. this doesn’t happened while using Eclipse App and watching videos from X. That’s great!

• Personalization it’s in a whole another level!

• Been using Eclipse App for about 12 hours and has been a great experience.

• Every little detail looks great and seems to be that dev takes care for every little thing. Drake’s Owl on the song progress bar looks great.

Overall it’s a great app, love the interface, the integrations, the way that Dev took care of every little detail it’s amazing.

Haven’t tested real debrid integration, but definitely gonna try it. Also haven’t tested the download songs to my device.

I want to try/buy Cloud Devs addon to support this awesome project.

Long life to Eclipse Music App!

Thanks Doc for your effort and hard work!
