[Crosspost] Hi r/movies! I'm Joshua Bailey, director of Stolen Kingdom - a Disney heist documentary about urban exploring, scandal, and theft at the Disney parks, ultimately leading to the heist of an animatronic. AMA!

I organized an AMA/Q&A with filmmaker and screenwriter Joshua Bailey. His new documentary Stolen Kingdom received critical acclaim and has been playing the film festival circuit for about a year. It's about urban exploration and ultimately a heist at Disney World.

It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1vsnbts/hi_rmovies_im_joshua_bailey_director_of_stolen/

He will be back at 3 PM ET tomorrow (Thursday 8/20) to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVNkxUxhqh0

Synopsis: The history of misdeeds and debauchery at Walt Disney World Resort over 30 years, which leads to the theft of almost half a million dollars worth of stolen props.

Thank you :)

Dreamfinder and Figment Return to EPCOT (D23 Announcement)

I haven’t been able to find any other information about this besides the announcement (no dates, artwork, etc.) but THEY’RE COMING BACK!!

I legitimately teared up, I never got to experience the original as it closed just a few years before I visited the park as a child. (Was just in time to experience lasting trauma from ExtraTerrorestrial: Alien Encounter though, thanks Dad 🫠)

(Story time because I know it will be appreciated in this community lol;
I found a rubber Figment toy in a locked cabinet at an antique shop a few years ago. I asked if they could unlock it and luckily the gentleman who had reserved the cabinet was there that day, so he asked me what I wanted and I told him I wanted Figment.
He looked at me with wonder in his eyes and said “You know who Figment is?”

I replied, “Oh, of course! From Journey Into Imagination with Dreamfinder and Figment! I never got to experience it, but I learned about it from a YouTube channel called Defunctland! It’s such a tragedy that it was taken away.”

This man stared at me for like a solid ten seconds and said “You can have Figment, and anything else you want in this case is 20% off, JUST BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHO FIGMENT IS.”

He’s currently sitting on my bookshelf with my fantasy books 😊 best birthday gift to myself ever)

Hello Old Friend 👁️

Someone familiar caught my eye 😉 (spotted here: https://youtu.be/sVrbufRrVwg).

I wonder if this was just an easter egg for the concept art, or if they will actually add Le Visionarium references to Space Mountain.

Trying To Remember This 90s ESB/NYC Motion Simulator

I remember in the mid-90s around 1994-96 this motion simultator attraction that was at the Empire State Building. The name escapes me at this time and doing internet searches seems to yield nothing. I remember going once and it was a pretty fun attraction and the part of it that sticks out for me was when you went into the waters and saw sharks swimming around. I'm hoping someone else remembers this attraction and can help me identify it. With luck there's some images and video from it as well. I remember one of the local NYC news stations had a report on it.

Holiday World Handwich

I used to work at this theme park and look what's on their menu! A Thanksgiving themed handwich.

And yes, that is a recommended wine pairing.

We all know it's a Handwich

Got to enjoy the mac & cheese and pork cone in Berk at Epic Universe. To be honest, too much bread (and mac & cheese but that's a separate issue) but I'm glad I got to try it.

Walt Disney Pictures - fixing the opening and closing logos of select 1990s movies

There are six Disney movies in the 1990s that began and closed with a bland "Walt Disney Pictures" logo that is nothing but text on a black background.

· THE ROCKETEER (1991)
· A FAR OFF PLACE (1993)
· THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1993)
· SQUANTO: A WARRIOR'S TALE (1994)
· RUDYARD KIPLING'S THE JUNGLE BOOK (1994)
· MIGHTY JOE YOUNG (1998)

I don't know why the classic blue castle logo wasn't used for these underrated gems, but it should've been. Granted, it was used in the ending of SQUANTO. Regardless, I somewhat rectified that by replacing the nothing-but-text logo in those movies with the castle logo. I also added some extra sounds to A FAR OFF PLACE and MIGHTY JOE YOUNG. For the former, not only did I add the Amblin Entertainment logo that wasn't used in the beginning for some reason, but I also added some African sounds to both the logos and the opening disclaimer for the sake of the movie's location. For the latter, I copied and pasted the opening drum sound so it can be used twice for the opening castle logo before going to the RKO Pictures logo.

This was all edited together on iMovie for good fun while also contemplating what could've been. But, what do you Disney fans think? If you've seen all six movies before with the text-only logo, what do you think of my editing skills? Did I make it all look convincing? Sound off in the comments!
