Unfortunately, I managed to scratch the sensor on my DJI Neo after only a few days.
While using Follow Mode, the drone flew into a sign, and since then there has been a scratch on the sensor.
I wanted to ask if this is something I should be concerned about or if I can ignore it for now.
Was just flying at a resort in Thailand west of Bangkok. Goggles n3 and motion controller. I had a Neo for a year, now this Neo2 for 7 monts, never with anything stressful happening. I guess even though I was up high I lost line of sight, the image froze, and nothing I triggered made a difference. I was trying to figure out if I could somehow trigger a return to home even without a video connection, frantically googling. Then I started to hear it getting closer. I looked up and there was a huge bird, I thought it had it. But the drone was auto returning to home right behind the bird. Phew.
Unfortunately the camera stopped shooting when I lost control, not sure if that's normal. But I did get some nice, scenic shots.
I find the flights very pleasant, the Neo 2 performs a bit worse in the wind, but the pleasure of flying is immense :)
Recently went on vacation, and on the very last day my drone decided to go into Altitude Mode and launch itself over the ocean where I lost it.
Despite swimming out and searching for an hour, I couldn’t recover it
DJI says they can’t replace it because I bought it on Amazon and not on the official DJI site.
My Asurion warranty for it via Amazon doesn’t cover lost or flyaways.
As you can imagine, I’m livid!
Can someone offer some advice or consoling words?
Hi everyone,
I've had a DJI Neo 2 for two days now, and I bought it on Amazon.
I also purchased DJI Care right away, starting with the 1-year plan for €16.
Am I understanding this correctly? If I fly over water, the drone falls into the water, and I can't recover it, would I be eligible to receive a replacement?
I'm asking because I've been avoiding flying over water for that reason.
I have one more question: Is it possible that the Neo 2 has trouble tracking at night when there's very little light?
Hey! I just came into possession of a neo 1, and one thing I want to look into is props that actually help with the noise pitch. Are there any out there that are worth picking up?
Located in the USA if that makes any difference for shipping
I have a UK operator and Flyer ID for my Neo; however this year I plan to take it with me to the EU which is another set of registrations.
I already got myself an EASA Operator Registration in France (n.b. this is free through ALPHA TANGO).
Can someone please confirm?
Thank you!
I want to stabilize my DJI Neo 2 Footage using Gyroflow, but my data looks weird. Is that normal?
Someone on the Gyroflow discord told me that my gyro might have issues, but the drone flies well. I noticed though that even with "Rocksteady" enabled, the footage does not look as smooth as it should be. All calibrations say "normal"
Already have the goggles and motion controller for my neo2. Which I dont use. But I'd like to get to using them, but with something more agile like the Avata.
Would you buy it??
$350-- flown twice.
I lurk on this sub and I've never posted before—largely because I'm no expert and my questions typically get answered—but since I've upgraded to the Neo 2, I have had a couple of persistent problems that I cannot for the life of me figure out. I wanted the Neo 2 because of the rear obstacle avoidance, in addition to the several other great upgrades that DJI made. I typically use the drone for walk-and-talk type videos where I sort of stroll towards the camera and I had a lot of success with the Neo 1. I had to be careful about where I executed my shots, but it was so steady that it was almost mesmerizing.
The moment I started trying to use the Neo 2 in the same capacity, the drone behaved so erratically that I couldn't even execute a single shot. It would inexplicably rocket up to a centimeter from my face and then dart back to five feet away. It would drift behind me. At first I thought it might be the tree coverage in the area I was shooting, but I went into a *wide* open field in broad daylight. Same thing. I updated the firmware. Same thing. The sensors are clean. I've toggled all the obstacle avoidance settings. Today I tried to shoot again in an open area and the drone would announce "returning to home" after a few seconds of recording. I don't feel like I'm really taxing the capabilities of this thing and it won't do the simplest front follow shot. What the hell am I doing wrong?
Small flight edited with DJI's own editing suite which is more than up to my needs.
Flight at Usil beach in Cantabria, Spain, with views of Liencres dunes and the Pico's de Europa mountain range, amongst other places.
Hello!
I own this drone for more than a year now. Never had any problems, works great! Until last Saturday. Lost control twice in the same manner. RC signal was good, I had some 15 satellites, so that should not be a problem.
Opened a case with DJI, they said I should send the drone in for inspection/repair.
Anyone had this kind of issues?
Anyone know any ways to capture on board audio of the neo 2 using the mic mini? I tried clipping it into the frame of the prop guards but it sounds horrible!
