Only 11 horror movies made the 100 best dolby atmos list

the list has a genre filter so i went through it and pulled out the horror ones. 11 out of 100, in the order they show up:

  1. A Quiet Place (2018) - Brandon Proctor, Noyan Cosarer
  2. Nope (2022) - Oleg Kulchytskyi, Johnnie Burn
  3. Sinners (2025) - Steve Boeddeker, Brandon Proctor
  4. Doctor Sleep (2019)
  5. Us (2019) - Doug Hemphill, Ron Bartlett
  6. Alien: Romulus (2024) - Will Files, Mark Paterson
  7. Nosferatu (2024) - David Giammarco
  8. Suspiria (1977)
  9. Overlord (2018)
  10. Evil Dead Rise (2023) - Gabriel Gutiérrez, Garret Farrell
  11. A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) - Skip Lievsay, Lee Salevan

a quiet place is the only one that cracks the top 10 overall, at #10. Part ii is on the list as well but it's filed under sci-fi, so the franchise really has three entries. Brandon proctor mixed all three of those.

Why

Why do you have home theaters?
I don’t have one, currently I have more than the full Sonos setup in my living room and I dream of a proper home theater. But I was wondering why. I mean I love movies and gaming, also listening to music. And with such a setup it becomes amazing. But my main motivation for me is be fully immersed. I wanna stop thinking about anything, forget that I am me and be just with the movie, game or music. And I noticed something.
I started with just a soundbar and then gradually added more speakers. But my thoughts didn’t stop and I didn’t get immersed more. And I’m betting it won’t change with a proper HT. Don’t get me wrong it’s still amazing and I love it, but my main problem won’t be solved like that. My dream of a HT doesn’t come just from inspiration but also from restlessness. I mean if I didn’t have the problem anymore I’d probably still do it. I’m just reflecting

Hey r/DolbyAtmosContent,

If you’re into movies, music, and other content that really makes Dolby Atmos shine, we wanted to start a discussion around the best wireless speaker sets and configurations for immersive spatial audio across different spaces and listening setups.

Here are some key features often found in LG Sound Suite’s modern wireless system:

  • Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: Optimizes audio based on speaker position and room environment, regardless of how different speaker sets are arranged. Even when speakers are placed freely, it generates optimized audio signals tailored to the setup and the space, allowing more flexible placement and immersive surround sound across a wide range of configurations.
  • Flexible modular expansion: Supports up to 50 speaker configurations at the moment using H7, M5, M7, and W7, accommodating a wide range of room sizes and layouts (More combinations are expected to become available through a later software update, making the system highly expandable over time!)
  • Room Calibration Pro: Adjusts for room acoustics to improve spatial accuracy.

We’ll be selecting 3 lucky reviewers to experience and keep one of the following LG Sound Suite setups:

  • Immersive Suite 5 Pro
  • Stereo Suite 7*
  • Stereo Suite 5*

^(*For Stereo Suite 5/7, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect requires a Dolby Atmos FlexConnect-supported TV as the leader device)

Setup Option Included Units Recommended Space
Immersive Suite 5 Pro H7 + M5 ×2 x W7 Medium to large spaces for deep 2-speaker immersion
Stereo Suite 7 M7 ×2 Open-plan and larger rooms for real surround stereo sound
Stereo Suite 5 M5 ×2 Any space needing smart, adaptive sound for real surround stereo sound

Each Sound Suite setup is built from a combination of these core components:

  • H7: World’s first Dolby Atmos FlexConnect soundbar, also known as all-in-one soundbar with 4 subwoofers + 8 passive radiators
  • M7: Wireless speaker, featuring 3 full-range speaker units and 1 woofer for immersive clarity
  • M5: Wireless speaker with dual tweeters and 1 woofer for compact yet dynamic sound
  • W7: Wireless subwoofer featuring an 8-inch Peerless woofer for immersive deep bass

For more details on the LG Sound Suite setup and key features, please refer to the Megathread here.

Apple Music Mix

Did Apple change the atmos mixes on songs?

I have an Apple TV hooked to a 5.2.4 setup - atmos music content used to always have the main vocals play through the center channel - now they’re coming through the L/R like stereo. If I play a song with Neural X, it comes through the center still. Am I crazy, or has it always been like this? Or is it a bug?

This tiny App Clip tells you if an AirPlay receiver actually supports Dolby Atmos

I made a small App Clip that lets you quickly check whether an AirPlay receiver actually advertises support for Dolby Atmos / Spatial Audio.

No app install is needed. Just open the App Clip on your iPhone/iPad, select your AirPlay destination, and check what it reports.

I originally built this because figuring out what actually supports Atmos over AirPlay can be surprisingly confusing.

App Clip:
https://appclip.apple.com/id?p=com.native-it.atmos.Clip

I’d be especially interested in hearing what it reports with different receivers, soundbars and AirPlay speakers.

Dolby Atmos en Apple Music

Tengo la duda sobre como funciona el Dolby Atmos de apple music en Android y si es inferior a la version de IOS o a otras apps que usan Dolby AC-4 para Atmos
