I called 911 for what turned out to be a panic attack

Some context: I have had panic attacks before back when I was in college and grad school. But I have not had one in nearly a decade at this point.

I was home alone and decided to try making a new tofu recipe that I’d found. I had never had tofu before but thought I’d give it a try. About a couple minutes after finishing my dinner, I got a weird head rush like I might pass out. As I was trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with me, my brain was like “omg isn’t tofu soy? and isn’t soy a really common food allergen that you’ve never had before today?” From there, my symptoms of course worsened because I was freaking myself out more. My husband was working late and wouldn’t be home for a few hours. My panic worsened to the point where I felt like I couldn’t breathe, thus solidifying my belief that I was indeed having an anaphylactic reaction.

So I called 911. The dispatcher was very patient and kind! Luckily, even when having a panic attack, I have always been able to present calm outwardly and communicate clearly, so they got someone out to me quickly. First, 3 firefighters showed up. They were also all very kind and as they began checking my oxygen/pulse were able to begin easily de-escalating my anxiety. One of the firefighters joked that trying tofu for the first time would’ve put him in the hospital too lol. Finally a couple EMS guys made it out with a blood pressure machine and stethoscope to listen to my breathing. After chatting with them, I ended up declining an ambulance ride to the hospital because at that point I had realized that it was actually just a panic attack. I am very appreciative of their time and care, but man oh man… I am just mortified. I’m able to laugh at it now, but still cringe every time I re-live it. Hopefully they’ve forgotten about me already haha

My Pee Incident

So, my parents were fighting a few hours earlier because my mom is drunk. I was so scared to leave my room, because my mom was sleeping in the room below me. I needed to pee. BADLY. I decided to just go to my window and pee into my backyard. At the end of my piss, my mom walked over from one of the chairs and just stared at me with her phone to her ear on a call. I started stammering, saying I didn't want to wake her and didn't know she was outside. I couldn't see her when I checked. She drunkenly hobbled away, phone still to her ear. I set an alarm for tomorrow morning reminding me to convince her it wasn't real, and that she was drunk. I even went to the lengths of changing my pajamas too. I'm so embarrassed. Thoughts?

How to forget embarrassing moments?!?😔

Earlier, I got the chance to ride right next to my crush and he decided to sit next to me... and my dumbass suddenly got so tense that I started sweating. And when I say sweating, I mean SWEATING like I had just finished a freaking marathon and I don't even know if may face was turning red that time😭huhuhuhu

I immediately tried doing things like trying to sleep on may bag just to hide my sweat and musty self because I forgot to bring my face towel, and of course, my fan decided to die at the worst possible time. Then, out of nowhere, some random guy in front of me is looking at me all worried cause I'm literally sweating so hard and offered me some tissues. Bro... I wanted the ground to swallow me alive.🥲

So I just grabbed the tissue and acted like I wasn't feeling well. 😭 I even got off the jeep(passenger vehicle) trying to look unwell just to buy another pack of tissues because the sweating wouldn't stop.

THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING. 😭 I don't even want to like someone anymore if this is how I act. I DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT MY CRUSH BRO ON THE WHOLE FREAKING RIDE😭😭😭

HE MUST HAVE THOUGHT IM WEIRD😔

TO THE GUY THAT OFFERED THE TISSUE THANK YOU🫂
