Escape the backrooms mic issue
I've played Escape the backrooms since early access on PC, it's one of my favorites. When I heard it finally dropped on PS5 I rushed to join a game and immediately scared off my entire team by involuntarily blowing out their ear drums :(
It's like the sensitivity is way too high on my mic. No matter how I try to adjust, it sounds like I'm caught in a windstorm or speaking through thousands of fans. I frequently join other games where players seem to be caught in the same storm or screaming at the top of their lungs because no one can understand them. It's really hard to communicate, we don't have text chat available on console so we're limited to jumping/nodding/flashing our lights. This is only happening in game with the built-in mic on my controller and my steelseries headset. Not all players sound as awful as I do. Creating Playstation parties with friends helps but I haven't found a way around it for players in game. Has anyone been able to remedy this yet?
