got a copy of CvS2 signed by LI Joe, Jwong, and Yipes at EVO this year
first time finally going to EVO in person! had an absolutely magical experience, wouldn't trade it for anything! got autographs from three of my favorite FGC guys on one of my all time favorite fighting games! i wouldn't even know about the fgc if it weren't for these three guys specifically so I'm really glad that these were the three sigs I was able to lock down! one of my new favorite possessions for sure! thanks for the warm welcome to vegas yall! love this community!

Anyone else disappointed that James Chen wasn’t on commentary for Street Fighter 6 Top 8 at EVO 2026?
EVO Top 8 just ddid not feel quite the same without James. He’s been one of the defining voices of competitive Street Fighter for so many years that hearing Top 8 without him was not the same.
His genuine hype for the players always added something special to the biggest matches.
Maybe I’m just getting old and nostalgic, but EVO SF Top 8 and James Chen have been linked together in my mind for years.
Did anyone else miss having him on the mic?

Hotel?
Hiii!!! First off evo was epic everyone!! This is my first year at evo with friends and we stayed at Sahara but im kinda wondering what everyone else did. Not a big fan of Sahara tbh, the rooms don't have any amenities, not even a microwave or coffee pot and the slide door to the bathroom has a huge gap to look inside. It makes me mad uncomfortable. Not that I dont trust my roomies, but its still unpleasant. And just some other nit picking things, but we all decided as a group that next year we're changing hotels if something better comes up. Staff was lovely though!! The group planner picked this because its the cheapest hotel supposedly, and connected to a monorail. I think for hotel room and gas we all paid just shy of 350 each for a week here and 4 of us. Wondering if maybe anyone else has any suggestions or thoughts?

EVO Absolver
I set up a lil spot at EVO in the free play section. Quite a bit of people had passed by and asked what was up, and a few of them even sat down to play!
I explained what Absolver is, how it works, how it plays. Aome people even asked for specific coaching on how to play. A few said they'd be getting the game even.
I got permission for every pic taken while people sat down to play.
I'm only gunna be doing it for this one day, cause what a pain in the ass it was to carry the whole set up to this spot. I still got a few more hours left of the day, and I'm gunna be staying until about half an hour before venue closes at 10pm Vegas time.
Edit: they close the Free Play Area at 9. Ended the day after packing it all up. Ima do ts next year 100%

Discount for EVO attendees at Pink Gorilla Games.
Went to Pink Gorilla Games yesterday and they had a discount with an EVO badge. The prices were already less than places like Gamestop so the extra discount was amazing. They had some cool stuff in I didn't grab. Think I saw Killer Instinct for snes for 20 and King of Fighters on PS Vita was 40ish pretty sure. Sorry I should have taken more pictures. 10 minutes from the convention center with an uber. Go get yourself some goodies!

Am I crazy or does the crowd seem super quiet/mild compared to previous years?
A lot of the reveals and trailers and stuff are drawing almost 0 audible crowd reaction. Only a handful of scattered cheers. The people in the first several rows are dead as fuck. Is it all media/special guests in there or something?

Are backpacks not allowed at evo?
Hey guys I'm very excited for evo but upon checking the prohibited items list I'm a little confused. At the bottom of the prohibited items list it states no bags. I am really really confused by this because last year everyone had bags to hold their merch, controllers, water, etc. and now it's not allowed??? I must be misreading this right?

Do you think prints of this will sell in artist alley?
Art I made couple months ago that includes all mainline SF characters from 1-6, all Alphas, and extra Capcom characters.
Went to a large comic convention and it didn't move. I am curious at how it will perform at a game tournament. Table A25 btw.

And where can I find that information? The website is only showing japanese people but I am quite sure the voice of at least one tekken commentator is the beautyful voice of a black man.
