The Fall of Umburgh enemies concept (Art by Me!) Read description for more!

So I wanted to quickly share a concept I had for a long time! I've designed several new enemies for a hypothetical fall of Umburgh. Or when the situation in the city gets so bad that the city collapses into a full blown civil war & the military has to get sent in.

Grunts, Rookies & Brass

These guys! They're national guardsmen sent in when the situation gets super dire. My inspiration for them was one of the endings for the video game, Mafia III.

Where in one ending cut scene, it states that the situation in the city of New Bordeaux gets so bad that the governor sends in the National Guard to reclaim order.

This is basically that, but in Umburgh. Where let's say. Glassjaw, the Benedettos & VISE get into such a huge conflict with one another. The gang war rapidly escalates to such an obscene degree, the National Guard is sent in to do VISE's job. But better. And with a greater Iron Fist.

I'd image these guys to be really tough enemies. Unlike other enemies I'd imagine they'd have multiple weapons including their main service rifle, submachine, or pistol. Hell, a Sabre for the brass. Plus they'd have a lot of experience from boot camp.

Rioters & Looters

I'd imagine these guys be more neutral NPCs, outright enemies & not submissive like the civilians. But they're only aggressive when you provoke them. Really want they want to do is steal & smash stuff.

They have randomized melee weapons like lead pipes, wrenches, bats, bottles, & blackjacks. And also Molotov cocktails & sawn-offs. They're weapons are easily accessible or improvised.

They're basically the average civilian NPCs you come across in game, but they're now very, very angry at the state of things, & the only way to show their anger, is through rioting.

Extremists

As the city collapsed, the desperate people needed action, needed a strong guiding hand to guide them to an Umburgh of safety, comfort & values.

They found their guidance, they found their solution through new, radical, & extremist ideologies. Ideologies with solutions that simple capitalism or communism that simply couldn't protect them.

Conclusion

So! Those were my ideas! I hope you all liked them! And I hope you managed to read through all of that! If you have anymore ideas I can use to further develop this, please do share them! And please do share your opinions! I put a lot of work into this & I love reading people's comments about my work! Anyways!

Have a great day & week!

I stumbled upon a curious spot in *Fallen Aces*—what do you think it actually is? There’s no way to get in or out, even though there’s an enemy inside, and the whole thing just looks really sloppy.

You dont need to talk to Hector!

You can just force him to be next to the car, and it works!
First i was meant to make a joke like "hey why cant i leave the stage?" but I found out that you can just leave without talking to him, as long as he is next to the car.

Weird how there's no police enemy variant wielding the Colt Monitor.

On the one hand I get that it'd probably be a hassle to deal with since the Monitor is easily the most OP gun in the game but on the other hand you'd expect at least a few of the officers to be packing one.

What do you think the rest of the world is like in Fallen Aces?

So a while back, I was going through some teaser images of Episode 2, then I saw this image. As you can clearly see, Fallen Aces is set in something called the Tri-State Republic. So that raised a few questions for me. What happened to the United States? Did it collapse? We see Europe & Vienna mentioned in Evelyn Waltz's diary, so what's going there? Did the Nazis come to power?

I mean, it's obvious that Fallen Aces is set in an alternative timeline. We hear of the Great Border War. Despite being set in the 1930s, we see TV sets being common household items despite the fact that by that point TVs were still incredibly expensive & expiermental. This alongside several mild anachronisms like the models of several cars being from the 1940s.

Also on the topic of war. Did WWI happen? The flag States that the TSR was founded in 1918 & in the shotgun plaque we do see soldier wearing a Brodie helmet, same with the toy tanks & troops. Plus several paintings, art pieces, & architecture follow the principles of Avant-garde art movements like Art Deco. The reason I bring this up is because this art movement was born out of the trauma of WWI in Europe.

Plus we don't see evidence of racism or sexism despite the fact that the game is set in the 1930s. Blake is very well respected despite being a black man in the 1930s, a time of extreme racism & when Jim Crow laws were still in place, same with the Knife Wielding Hoods who are mixed race. While Delia is respected as a strong woman & had a very high ranking position in the police force. Furthermore, her mother Alexia was also an agent for the OCIO in the war.

But also on the topic of sexism. It's clear that strong & independent women like Delia & her mother are rare. As despite the police department opening it's doors up for women, we don't ever see any female police officers, hell we don't even see any female NPCs or civilians outside from dead bodies. And on those dead bodies, they were simple house dresses, which would've been popular back then.

Furthermore, it's heavily implied that the Great Depression still occurred as we see a large majority of Umburgh's population being impoverished. As seen in the large crappy neighborhoods like the one where Mike lived in, also where Blake's junkyard was & the 99% first chapter of episode 2 being set in a large slum.

So, those are my ideas & questions for now, please share yours! And have a great day & week!

My new shirt

My new Umburgh Strikers shirt I got today! I also got the Night Wave signed print roughly a year ago when I was really invested into the game.

With some of the more horror elements of Episode 2, it makes me want to imagine if we had a horror game in the style of Fallen Aces. Maybe also taking influence from Creepshow or Tales from the Crypt with that comic style, each episode/chapter being like a horror short story. What do you think?

Of course still have it be an immersive sim, but imagine the genre swap while retaining the pulpy comic aspect.
