My ALT map of the United States

Hello everybody! u/GOJIRA_MAX12345 here. I made a map of the United States in terms of it being an alternate version of it. I added extra states, like Baja California, Vancouver, and Gaspe to the map while adding other stuff like San Diego and stuff as other new states.

Below I am going to explain what has changed:

New States

  • San Diego (Completely New)
  • Oakland (Completely New)
  • Baja California (Mexico)
  • Gaspé (Canada)
  • New Brunswick (Canada)
  • Okeechobee (Completely New)
  • Keys (Completely New)
  • Chicago (Completely New)
  • Chesapeake (Completely New)
  • Nova Scotia (Completely New)
  • Carolina (Georgia took South Carolina)
  • Dakota (The Dakotas merged)
  • Long Island (Completely New)
  • Prince Edward Island (Completely New)
  • West Texas (Completely New)
  • Deseret (Merger between Nevada and Western Utah)

Expanded States

  • Mississippi (Expanded into parts of Louisiana)
  • Texas (Got the Cimmaron)
  • New Mexico (United with Arizona)
  • Georgia (Took South Carolina)
  • Montana (Got Wyoming)
  • Idaho (Expanded into the other states in the PNW, not including Oakland)
  • Colorado (Expanded into eastern Utah)
  • Michigan (Won the Toledo Strip)
  • Virginia (Reunited its old territories in WV and Kentucky)
  • Pennsylvania (Got the first panhandle of West Virginia and also got northern New Jersey but lost the Erie portion to New York.)
  • Maine (Got New Hampshire)
  • Florida (Although it lost a lot of land, it expanded into the Bay of Mobile (Idk what it's really called. Can someone tell me and give me a link to Wikipedia 'bout it?)
  • New York (Got the portion of that weird Canadian Semi-exclave that is west of the river that seperates it from Gaspé)
  • Wisconsin (Because Michigan kept Toledo, Wisconsin kept the Upper Peninsula and then got those Canadian islands)
  • Connecticut (Got western Rhode Island)
  • Michigan (Got eastern Rhode Island)

Alt-History Details

At the time of the U.S. Mexico War, America decided to take one more part of Mexico, Baja California. After this, they decided to conquest Southern Canada, and then decided to do the same thing to Canada that it did to Mexico, but this time with just a few parts, Vancouver, Gaspé, New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia. After this, America desired to merge its existing states and territories. They eventually granted statehood to Northern California and what was then the full territory of San Diego County (pre-1907).

Anyways, what do you guys think of it. If it's formatted badly, that's because it was supposed to be posted on r/imaginarymaps. But seriously, what do you think? Do you have any flag ideas for each of them? This image took me a lot of days to make, trust me.

(By the way I don't know why I expanded Idaho, perhaps from the Greater Idaho movement)

BTW I just made a map of San Diego's counties. Would you like me to show them Tomorrow?
