Who's going to win McGregor or Holloway and why?

I think Holloway is going to win because McGregor's been inactive for 5 years. Holloway has had seven fights in that time period. Holloway is a volume puncher. He has good cardio and McGregor not so much. The only way McGregor is winning is by an early knockout. He lacks endurance so that's a downfall for him.

Does everybody like that the UFC doesn't just hold events once a month?

I liked that there were more well-rounded fighters. Then they started adding an event every weekend. It's overkill for me. It's difficult to remember people's names. I know a lot of the athlete's names and things about them. However, it's just too much. I like to back in the day when Anderson Silva was a badass striker, who in his prime could take out everyone!

Let’s have a friendly debate. Which side do you choose, and why? McGregor vs. Holloway 2 — Rematch, Rebirth, or Sideshow?

McGregor vs. Holloway 2 — Rematch, Rebirth, or Sideshow?

Twelve years after their first fight, Conor McGregor (22-6-0) and Max Holloway (27-9-0) are set to face each other again. This time it's not at their natural weight. The bout will take place at welterweight (170 lbs), with both men moving up from their traditional divisions.

Let's have a friendly debate. Which side do you choose, and why?

The end of the road for big Joe Joyce?

Getting a little misty eyed for what mighta been with Joe Joyce. It's easy to forget how highly rated he was on the come up, particularly the run from Dubois through Parker and ending emphatically with Zhang. I think he probably stayed in the amateur game too long, he lost that physical dynamism that made him so impressive in WSOB.

He's heading over to Moscow to take on this Artem Suslenkov guy on the undercard of the Gassiev-Yoka fight. Wasn't too cognisant of Suslenkov but have watched back what I could find of his fights online. He has a win over Michael Hunter under an IBA pro classification. The rest of his opponents have been fringe world level at best.

Suslenkov is compact and functional. He looks like a pretty good boxer but he is also pretty tactically horrible. It is a lot of getting chest to chest, hitting and holding. A younger Joyce would run through him but at 40 and as the away fighter I fear this will not be a successful night for Joyce. Anyone here got more insight on Suslenkov than I?

One of the most important aspects of Wrestling & Combat Sports is: A person must have humility to do well. Does anybody agree, and if you have another important aspect please state what it is. Say why you chose it. 😜

If you think you know everything, your coaches or Sensei's won't be able to help you properly.

First round submissions in UFC title fights

Inspired by a comment in another thread...

How many UFC fighters have more than one first round submission win in a title match?

Off the top off my head, Matt Hughes has four (Trigg 1 & 2, GSP, Joe Riggs - not sure if this counts since Trigg didn't make weight, but Hughes was still a defending champion.

Seeing the UFC product now makes me hate being a fan.

I wish I had the chance to be a UFC fan during the early 2000’s cause holy shit the UFC now is just a corporate shill that fast tracks any fighter willing to make fun of immigrant fighters to their own detriment + extreme cringe just to get extra eyes on their fight. Shit is so sad, wish I could just see fighters wanting to fight for the sake of fighting
