Moving to a older neighborhood (1980s) called Bailiwyck in Fort Mill , SC from Charlotte. Crossing the boarder for tax benefits and better schools. We figure the location makes up for the premium price. But want to hear from others in that area or community. What should we be aware of? Any red flags or concerns with Bailiwyck?
Anyone’s kid ever participated? If so, positives ? Negatives?
Good afternoon!
I'm from NJ and have a daughter (13) and a son (5). My son is low on the ASD spectrum but has done so well in our NJ system so far. He was in early intervention from 18 months, transferred to the town preschool program when he turned 3, and will be in kindergarten in the fall if we stay here. He would be in a class of approximately 12 with a teacher and several paras, continue to receive speech and OT, and get a lot of "movement breaks" as he needs a "sensory diet". He is a smart, pleasant little boy but needs those services and thrives in the school system here.
We desperately want to move out of NJ and are coming to look at the FM area in a couple weeks. My biggest hangup with leaving the area right now are the schools. I would love to speak to someone in the school district in person to see what services the district offers and the demographic of the children who would be in a class that he would be in. Has anyone met with someone from the school system or toured before they moved to Fort Mill? Would they be open to that?
Went to Manchester meadows park and comporium so far. But was told it was not public.
Anyone else get stuck in that today? Looked like someone on a motorcycle got nailed. Three lanes shut down. By the time we drove by there was a dude laying in the road with a few people around him.
